In all the time I have been coming on here the old site included it has never been this divided to the point where sheer vitriol is being banded about !! There is no harmony for a reason and I believe that reason is because some people have ambition and a want for success and some are happy with their lot ! Nobody is in the wrong with their respective views but something is awry when this situation is ongoing ! Lessons have clearly not been learnt from last season and the natives are slowly latching on to it ! Go on the other Latics sites, its not just here ! Ask yourselves deep down and put your sentiment to one side for a minute what you think has gone wrong with WAFC ! Forget the past as well because this is a new era for the club and 10,000 plus fans have jumped on the band wagon whether you like it or not ! I believe that we have a squad of players that utilized properly could have us sitting safely mid table right now but that isn’t the case is it !!
I try not to get roped in to some of these arguments but today we could have hit loads. We didn’t. So how is that Martinez’s fault?He picked a team that could (and did) make the chances. He chose a style of play that created the chances.
The fact that the players didn’t convert them is not his fault. And don’t tell me that X, Y or Z would have scored them. We know, with the current pressures on them, they probably would have done no better. The team he picked was one, before the game, that I heard no-one complaining about.
I’m not happy with the results – and very often I am as critical as the next man about the team selections.
But today was NOT the manager’s fault.
Sorry Garswood today was totally the managers fault and I’ll tell you why, he has signed a squad of players that have NO idea how to score goals. The blame lies 100% with Bob.

Filmos, you don’t need to be a genius to work out why there is such a divide. It’s because there is a large portion of the support have only ever known the good times, and so have an unrealistic expectation of the club, frankly it’s silly to expect the latics to be doing any better than they are, when you weigh up all the circumstances, which have been repeated on here to the point of pointlessness!
The older heads, and any newer fans with more than 2 brain cells, can see that Wigan are punching above their weight, and that relegation battling is about as much as we can expect, sure you can hope for more, why not have a bit of optimism, but get real and understand that the most likely thing is what’s happening now. We’ve been through worse, and football is full of ups and downs, a true supporter will enjoy it all, and be behing the team and manager regardless, I mean Jesus h Christ, there’s worse things than relegation, so why all the constant moaning and repeating of the same bollocks?! It’s like watching cbeebies coming on here, with the sensible posters keep repeating the realitys, and the poor retarded children running around and coming out with sentences that make no sense.
Funny for a while, but ultimately pointless!there will always be a divide between fans when things are not going well.but its good to see some new fans going and enjoying it for what it is.my nephew has just started going on his own with his mates and win loose or draw he loves it, he’s even started going to the reserves. he remindes me of myself wheni was his age going in the old fourth division, we all want to see the team win but its the matchday experience thats more important to some people and its good to know there are young fans who will still be going next season no matter what because they love wigan athletic and are starting to understand what supporting a club like ours is all about rarther than walking round town with your man yoo shirt on and never going anywhere near a football ground.
