Regarding ‘The Justice Taylor Report’, it’s simple. Post Hillsborough, they said that football grounds should be all seated. Thus they stopped being football grounds as such, and became stadiums. What was once a male domain, became a family thing, and the clubs took full advantage, realising that they could charge higher prices. This took the game away from the ‘working mans game’ image, and made it a middle class thing. Add the glossy crispness of the Sky effect, and the fact that they turned a sport into a ‘product’, we are left with what today is esssentially a day out for the middle classes.

I would think so. He don’t say a lot, but when he does…Griff you do not know me. I definately have the talent and would have the audience I can guarantee you this. The point is I also have the time, but do not want to waste it writing an article that will make people stop reading half way through. In fact if I wrote one people wouldn’t stop reading half way through as I would keep it interesting, which perhaps, means that I have more talent than this guy :DJames, for what it’s worth , I stopped reading your post half way through.

Was it Jimmy who wrote that article? TBF James (from this board – don’t get confused), t’was a very good piece of writing what probably summed up what the majority (might be pushing it a bit) are thinking and would write if they had the time or talent to do so.
