Rumour going around that grigg is off to sunderland on loan. If this is true, i hope mr cook has someone even better lined up. Correct me if i’m wrong, but garner & vaughan have (i think) 3 league goals combined & 2 of those have come from the penalty spot.

Because Cook doesn’t fancy him simple as along with a good others who were shipped out before they even emptied thier kitbag.

The reason for the lack of Grigg goals is:

        Lack of supply
        Lack of match play
        Injuries

2 out of 3 of those reasons can be resolved by the manager so let’s not solely blame Grigg hey !!!.

I’m sure the owners won’t let this loan happen not unless they have someone far far better lined up.

I don’t give a flyer who the fook we sell or who we bring in.
At the moment were basically replacing players, one we sold and because of injury.

Cooks choice of player bores me, he’ll work hard but right now with a team full of gratfers it’s proving that it’s won’t be good enough to keep us up

Grigg may only have four goals to his name this season, but that is still more than Vaughan 3, Garner 3 and Windass 2.
Like cup winners says, play him and give him support and he will score.

I hope this Sunderland thing is just a rumour as he is the best we have, and better than anyone else we can afford at the moment.

If they want him, then it would have to be for in excess of £5M to be able to replace him for someone anywhere near as good. Surely we are not daft enough to let him go for less, or even worse loan him to them.

Don’t be surprised if we did.

How do you know Cook doesn’t fancy him?

Err because Cook doesn’t play him when he’s fit ?. Yep that’s probably the giveaway for me or are you gonna tell me he’s not fit along with MacManaman ?

              #174977

And you know for sure he’s fit? All the medical professionals who monitor him day in day out are wrong and its just that cook is useless is it?

The whole “fit enough for the bench” argument always make me laugh. To make the bench you could be good for 20 minutes like Nick Powell was 2 years ago, but as good as you are no self respecting manager will play you from the start and see you limp off 20 minutes in and waste a substitution. Then of course fans moan “why has he played him when he isn’t fit?!”

If Grigg is at 60% and Vaughan/Garner are at 70% then they will start. If Cook feels Callum McManaman is a 20 minute gung ho, tactical substitution, impact player then that is what he’ll be.

Dont be daft eggy. These guys with degrees have no idea. The Latics online massive are the true experts.

Happy to have him on loan, but wouldn’t be happy to sign him permanently. There’s a reason why Brentford loaned him out when they got promoted, MK Dons didn’t sign him when they got promoted and he spends all his time on the bench for you in the Championship.

What happens if you don’t go up mutty ;)

                #174982

Personally I think if Grigg plays as a true #9 and hangs about the box for a decent cross then he will score goals. If he is asked to hold the ball up, beat a man etc etc then he isn’t strong or quick enough.

Then there’d be a chance that we’ll see him next season playing for Wigan at the SOL ;) ;)

There is not a cat in hells chance I would let Grigg go. No way. Given decent service, there will always be goals in him.

But we do have a manager who selects Vaughan or Garner in front of him, which is very alarming…so it could happen. Cook is cracked if he lets Grigg go.
