Its a good shout but if i was an investor, I would have to be very rich to invest in a club like ours. Every other club with the exception of Blackpool would be tempting to put money in but i could see no return in Wigan.
Your not wrong, but with the money that the 2 mega spenders have spent – City & Chelsea, have they actually had a return on investment?
City average about double our crowds yet spend over 100million a year in the transfer market and have numerous player on over 100k a week. There’s no profit there surely?

We have the individuals, nearly all our attacking players have been linked with big moves in the last year or two but as a team they are not producing. For me it has to be the formation. When Argentina’s top goalscorer can hardly get given a chance you should know this formation doesn’t work against lower league teams.

exactly awful material for the second season in a row :o [/quote]The patricks kits were done on the cheap, the JJB kits were done on the cheap, the Vandanel kits were done on the cheap, and now the mifit kits are done on the cheap.
If having your own brand is so profitable then why do the like of Crystal Palace (skint) to name just one, have Nike?
Nothing wrong with recommending players if you actually know a bit about the player, although im sure Martinez is aware of them all, especially the free agents.
Its when supporters try to suggest new players based purely of Football Manager/Championship Manager that makes me cringe.
I saw it earlier and i think it looks slightly better than it does in photos/in action, however it’s still a million miles from looking like a Premier League shirt. Id consider buying it for £20 (which would probably still make the club a 90% profit at that price), but for £40 no chance.

By playing them it generated a decent crowd of which some kept coming back and became regulars. By polay a top club every now and then it could well get crowds that wouldn’t normally come and watch us in, and heaven forbid could then start to come on a more regular basis if the experience was a good oneIf these people don’t attend when we play Man United at home in the league why would they show up to watch a foreign team in a friendly?
The point i am making is we dont know what we are buyingIf you want guaranteed success then there’s a few season tickets going at United this season after loads of them refused to renew.
Do we want to know EXACTLY what were buying when we purchase a season ticket? If we knew the exact outcome it wouldnt be half as good. We can be sure we will give it our best shot whilst balancing the books at the same time, just like we have done for 6 years.
You just have to hope we spend about 6 million to replace him. Either that or Martinez has an unknown talent up his sleeve.
A fairly large number of away fans did comment last season that we only looked dangerous going forward when we went through N’Zogbia. He was the only real creative spark we had.
I understand were a small club and we struggle to hold onto our best players, but this is happening every single season.
At the start of every Premiership season we’ve been involved in we have had half a new team. I can understand us letting one of Hugo/N’Zogbia going but we can’t let both of them leave in one go.
It was a pre season friendly at Oldham of all places. Hardly an FA Cup final. If their running around with huge smiles on their faces there id be more confused.
In the past year we have removed the following from the wage bill..
Scharner (25-30k a week?)
Bramble (40k a week?) (…more than likely)
Kapo (20k a week?)
King (20k a week?)
Melchiot (30-40k a week?)Considering how average most of those are, we’ve done well to get reduce the wage bill that much.
And in the main we’ve replaced them with young & hungry younger players like McCarthy, Moses, Diame & McCarthur.
Get a couple of new defenders in and were in a much better better position both with our squad and with the wage bill compared to last season.
There was an attitude problem at this club a good six months before Martinez arrived and it’s taken some time for him to put his stamp on the squad.No doubt about that, although i just can’t imagine Titus ever being the kind to cause any tension. He seems way too laid back to have an attitude & ego like some of them do.
