Youtube banned here – I hope this is worth waiting for when I get home tonight :?
I’ll bet it induces a titter
The Egg – just who is that in the avatar you use? Some chick!
If you want something miserable you can’t beat Leonard Cohen, guaranteed to induce suicidal feelings. Give it a try and let me know how you get on.
Does anyone know any good places to park in Birmingham for the game on Saturday?Try this http://www.footballgroundguide.com/birm … ctions.htm
They’ve already sold the best ones, I think they raked in £95 million and still have £60 million debts! It’s only the dregs left now and they were going down anyway.
Remove truelatics’ posts, Jay, they’re usually tripe
How about something more current?
The thought that any football manager will change his tactics because a bunch of got-nothing-better-to-do-than-talk-drivel-on-message-boards berks want him to is beyond laughable.
Hey, stop having a go at everyone, Bob wants unity, burk ![/quote]
Nice one, 2-1 to the burks vs. the berks
The thought that any football manager will change his tactics because a bunch of got-nothing-better-to-do-than-talk-drivel-on-message-boards berks want him to is beyond laughable.I see you favour the “berk” spelling. I prefer “burk”, I think it has a bit more oomph!
You missed my point David my belief is that its not necessarily the players that are the target of the boo boys. Deehan was probably the most hated person ever to be involved with WAFC so how do we vent our anger and frustration. I openly admit to booing Deehan he was vile and in the end we got our wish and he was gone. Mr Whelan is a bit thick skinned who thinks everything in the garden is rosy so we need him to realise how much we are hurting this season. I wont boo the players as its not their fault if they are not good enough or cant play in the weird way Martinez wants them to play so what im really trying to say is that maybe the boo boys who desperately need to show their angst do so at the right time and in the right directionWell maybe the boo boys should go and stand outside Whelan’s house and boo if that’s what they want to do. Then they can be sure it’s in the direction they want. But if you start booing at a match will you please shout out before you start booing who you are booing at as booing tends not to be very directional.
To all and sundry on here who say they have never boo,ed at the Latics i give you 2 words………….JOHN………DEEHAN. There you go now do you still hold to that?Yes, never booed, not even then. Doesn’t mean I applauded wildly either, as the dark side seem to think you must do if you don’t boo.
So in summary Loudmouth you believe that Wigan Athletic’s rightful place is mid table nestled in just behind the likes of Villa, Spurs, Everton and CityI believe that given that we have one of the smallest transfer budgets in the division, the smallest crowds in the division, therefore the smallest gate reciepts, one of the poorest chairman, Kilby at Burnley is worth £4million, the rest are much welthier than Whelan, except perhaps at Pompey. Our current manager has inherited a squad which did finish in mid table a year ago but half of that team was sold off in January and the summer and a fraction of it put back in because Whelan is paying off debts because the club can’t sustain the outgoings. Well we aren’t doing too bad after five seasons
You clearly hate Roberto but don’t seem to offer any solutions as to who should be the manager, Mourinho, Van Gaal or Rijkaard perhaps?? and what miracles they should be expected to work under such tight financial restrictions. Maybe you’d like Steve Bruce back, I’m sure he could do a good job, maybe if we trebled his transfer budget and wage bill, gave him a £30m strike force and another 20,000 fans, he might have been…oh that’s right a whole two points further on than Roberto.
Seeing as you hate the manager so much to call him a tosser, and instead of repeating the same old diatribe over and over again on here while some of us are trying to support the club whilst recognising the situation we are in. I suggest you put your money where your mouth is and get down to Christopher Park along with Vat69 with your Martinez Out banner. Get yourself on Sky Sports. Sorry that you’ve given up, a football club is about ups and downs. It seems some on here have such delusions of grandeur that they seem to think Wigan Athletic is now too precious to suffer any downs any more and would rather spit their dummies than try and support the club to help them turn it around.
I respect your opinion and know I’m not going to change it, nor Tyldesley or any others of the dark side but your criticisms of Roberto seem to centre around the fact he has lost points, how many points did Steve Bruce lose from January last season? How many points did Jewell lose when we nearly got relegated. You are criticising him for going to Everton, Stoke and Sunderland and not winning?? That would be Everton with 120 years history now challenging for Europe, Stoke who can afford to spend £12m on Huth and Tuncay and Sunderland who are owned by a billionaire not a market stall owner done well? Get real, he’s not perfect and he’s making mistakes but he is probably the only manager we could afford. I don’t know whether he’ll turn it around but like it or not we are where we are, scrapping near the bottom with the clubs like Bolton, Blackburn, Hull, Burnley etc – all of whom are miles bigger than us in terms of infrastructure, history and fanbase and if the smallest club in the premier do manage to stay up it will be a real achievement, again.
Back up top where it belongs
Stay, the only way for us to progress is to have some stability.
Would be nice if we took a half decent following on Saturday.I’m coming up on my own from Wintery Wiltshire on the train, but have never been to St Andrews. Is it easy to get to from Birmingham New Street?
I’m going from Chesterfield to New Street, it’s about a 30 minute walk to the ground from the station. I go to the Anchor, Bradford Street for some real ales before the match.
You both owe me, big time… I set that one up like a Paul Collingwood half-volley outside off-stump and you leathered it to the boundary like Viv Richards in his pomp.Still, like open goals, they need putting away. so well done ;)
Thanks ;)
