Passed through myself tonight as they were putting them up and wondered what it was all about. I thought it was being built at Christopher Park. I had a look at the proposals and it looks basically like they are replacing a field with a flatter field that has lines and goalposts on. Hardly a nuclear power station. Don’t they realise that the development will virtually ensure that the green belt continues?

Do you not think he’s been using a bit of reverse psychology? He tell’s everyone that we’re not really interested in the cup which makes opponents think we’re a pushover and makes the players think “Who’s not interested?” and play out of their skins.

Sorry lads but we’ll all wake up soon and realise we don’t play until tomorrow! Absolutely superb performance. Agree about Alcaraz. Cool and calm at the back. Everone from back to front was superb and we scored all the goals at our end, what could be better. Come on Wembley!!!!

Good performance considering we are not interested in winning it. Perhaps we should play every week as though we are not interested in staying up? :)(Waits for comments from the darkside!!)

Disagree about Henriquez. I watched him closely when he came on and was impressed by his movement off the ball. He got into loads of good positions but if nobody passes the ball to you then you can’t do anything with it. If the comment about not being able to trap the ball is based on the incident in front of the west stand, the ball had taken a wicked deflection and was spinning all over the place.

Where is this data from and what do they mean by “local postcode”? Is it, for example, just WN or is it WN5 as it could make a difference to some of the clubs because of their location (might be on an idustrial estate. Is it actually saying that our average fan lives 18 miles away from the ground? Find that hard to believe

in reply to: Have Leeds Set The Footprint For Future Policing? #90638

I’ve Googled the case and it looks like we won the High Court appeal against the original case. The club paid £293,085 ‘under protest’ (because GMP threatened to withdraw policing, which would have meant the games being played behind closed doors) but won the appeal. They got a refund of £263,378, plus interest of £74,257. GMP also had to pay all the legal costs of the appeal, along with 60 per cent of the lawyers’ bills run up by the club.

So, was the Latics case cited in the Leeds case? I would have thought case law would have established what West Yorkshire Police were doing was illegal.

Exactly Whelan’s argument with GMP. Wonder if he’ll go for a refund. Didn’t we pay more than Whelan said we should because GMP threatened not to provide any policing at all if we didn’t pay up?
