Pity about the three mile hike we had to the ground. I think they chose the pretty route. Talking to the owner of a chippy on the way back and he said they wondered what was going on as they never took fans via that route. Also five buses to take possibly 1500 fans back to the city centre was a bit of an under- estimation. Whoever is in charge of publc transport in Bruges wants a kick up the backside, not least for losing them God knows how many euros in lost fares. Apart from that it was a great trip.

Just come past Last Orders in Standish and they’ve got a banner out “Latics in Europe” Thurday 5:30. Could be their busiest night!

Thanks, Garswood. Will keep an eye on Facebook. There’s 4 of us so the taxi might be the best option

Is there no parking near the ground? According to the message on the Suprters Club website the only parking at the ground is for coaches. We are driving there and the options seem either join the herd and walk for 45 minutes or catch a bus, the last one being at 4:30.

No one said it would be easy. Did Macmanaman’s “reputation” from last season carry forward into the championship or was it a bad tackle?

I read a bit in the Chorley Guardian a couple of weeks ago where it said they had just over 100 members paying about £620 a year in fees. With an income of only about £65k a year it’s not surprising that the club was up for sale. How do you pay greenkeepers, admin staff, etc out of that and pay for machinery maintenance, etc? Do the members expect DW to fork out £30k, the equivalent of 6 months fees income, so they can use the course for another couple of months? I don’t think so.

Like they say, you can only beat what’s put in front of you

Agree with jrfatfan about the movement being quicker. We seemed to get the crosses in much sooner, and more often, than last season and withn Holt on the end we surely must put a few away this season. Also like the way Watson banged the free kicks into the box instead of playing the ball back to the half way line. Thought Gomez (oops, sorry Gomez haters!) took his goal well. With his back to goal he turned his marker and put it into the bottom corner. Lets just hope this has set us up for a flyer when the season starts proper.

PS It would be good to do the double over the Mancs as well!!

    Is he better than Sammon?

It was a full house for Shaun. Player of the year, away player of the yesr and player’s player. Watson goal of the season, McManaman young player of the year
