Just signed winger Micael Jacobs from Wolves according to Newsnow
Listened to some of it on the radio and they lost both goalscorers to injury by half time as well as the goali in the second half. Sounded like sods law.
GC is our new manager – end of so lets just give the guy a chance and get behind him. If MacKay was only saved by the Reading result do you think the powers that be haven’t been thinking about their options? I’d rather give a Latics man who wants the job a chance than bring in someone who’s out of work because he’s not delivered the goods at his previous club(s). Cauldwell knows the club and how it operates. He knows the players probably better than previous managers so he should know who are fighters and who are make weight. If we get relegated under his watch we are no worse off than we are now. His team selection, style and passion over these next 5 games will show what sort of a manager he will make. Lets just give him and the team our 100% support. Believe!!!!!
A bit hypocritical of the Beeb this. I was listening to 5 Live on the way home from the match. They were interviewing the Bournemouth manager and the reporter was going on about their support being fantastic as they had 11000 on. 11000 !!!!! for a team pushing for the prem in a town with double the population of Wigan and no major clubs on their doorstep.
Need to get the big screen up and show it before the game.
Me too, especially, Wembley. Thanks for the journey, Dave
Look at their goalie for the second one. Just knelt there looking at the back of the net. He didn’t appeal.
Whelan can’t comment yet as I don’t think his six week ban is up or its only just up. No doubt he’ll have somthing to say very soon
Wonder if he’s a chip-py off the old block?
….perhaps, but on a different subject

I now see all the press are slating Dave for saying that when he was a lad they used to call a chinese takeaway “chingalings”. It’s about time they found something serious to talk about if what we said as kids is going to be brought up 50 or 60 years later
With the benefit of his 50 years of wheeling and dealing in the retail trade perhaps if he’d added the words “from my experience” to his quote about Jews being money obsessed I would have thought that he couldn’t be criticised. No doubt he’ll get hammered by the FA now just to placate the media.
Just read an item on Newsnow (can’t suss out how to copy and paste on my Tab) and the Jewish Chronicle have tried to find any Jewish “friends” of Dave’s. Not surprisingly they failed to find anyone in Cheetham Hill who would admit to knowing him
I too remember his predecessor. 5pm on Saturday. Dad with his glasses on, pen in hand poised over the back page of Saturday’s paper ready to put the scores against the list of matches. No one dare speak in case he missed one of the results which may have given him 8 draws and win £75,000 – he never did! Happy days!
It’s noticeable in his farewell message on the club website that he thanks everyone at the club – management, backroom staff, physios, fitness trainers, etc and only thanks the fans who voted him player of the season. Think that’s at least some of the reason he left.
On the way down we stopped off at the last services on the M1. As we went in a bobby said “Hope you win this afternoon”. I said “Are you a Spurs fan then?” He said “No I’m an Arsenal fan but I just want Wenger out. Hope you win 6-0”. Pity we could’nt oblige
