Here’s a few we could set our eyes on ……….
Jamie O’hara – Spurs – CM (£2.7m)
Danny Rose – Spurs – LM (LOAN)
Henri Lansbury – Arsenal – MIDFIELD (LOAN)
Nadir Belhadj – Pompey – LB / LM (£1.2m)
Craig Eastmond – Arsenal – RB / CM (£1m)
James McArther – Hamilton – CMF (£1m/£2m)I can’t believe no-ones chose Koumas yet.
And as for the Scotland suggestion…funniest joke this year!!I really pulled one out of the hat there, no …
whoaoooo!! Someone who has actually analysed the game with a bit of footballing nouse.
And he’s only like 13…says a lot for the whingers of the site!
It’s a shame i’m from St.Helens :D
I agree. I know I might sound stupid but if Caldwell hadn’t of been sent off we might of got something out of it. When they got their 2nd they knew they were gonna win seeing they were playing against a 10 men Wigan side so for the rest of the game they could relax and play for the fans.Spot on. As soon as Lampard scored the pen he knew that we weren’t ever going to score as least 2 with a team including Pollitt and Melchiot. It would be a shame to see Melchiot go, but it’s time. Hugo, N’zogbia, Melchiot, Scharner, Pollitt, Stojkavic, Kapo, Moreno, De Ridder, Koumas, Cywka, Routledge, Holt, Kingston and Sinclair all likely to leave. What does that leave us with ? Kirkland, Boyce, Bramble, Caldwell, Figueroa, McCarthy, Diame, Thomas, Watson, Moses, Scotland and that’s as a starting 11. The bench would be, Gomez, Kupisz, Nicholls, Gohouri, McManaman, Bouaouzan, Amaya.
There’s going to be more Chelsea fans in the Wigan lower tier than Wigan fans.
Expecting to get beat 5 or 6 on SunIf lucks on our side it’ll be 5
Can Griff take the title of most prolific poster ? As the last day of the season approaches he is currently just 5 posts in front of Dave from Skem which in itself is some mean feat !
Hmm, need to get out more.
Or be put under more pressure at work ;)
Both of them sound good ideas. This is a post from someone on Mudhutters Media.
There was a bloke trying to buy a ticket on monday, and couldn’t believe it when they refused and started arguing with the girl behind the counter.
“why can’t i buy one”
“because you’re wearing a chelsea shirt”
“yeah i’m not gonna wear it next sunday though” !!!
Tickets sold out for bottom tier and most of the top.
I like him, I just wish he wanted to stay and play in defence. He was one of our best players last season but as a midfielder this season he’s been mediocre.
He switches off in defence but when he’s just behind the attacking 4 (Hugo,Charlie,McCarthy,Scotland) he’s a very good player alongside Diame.
I know people in the lower tier and im upper tier, therefore we cant have sent either of those back.
Thy only had upper tier tickets left on saturday.
Yeh my mate who bought lower tier tickets got them over a week ago. He’s definitely down there, we must have sent half or so of the lower tier back perhaps.
I think that we might of actually sold out for once.I’ll try to explain what I think happened – and why the decisions made were not that bad.Quite a few on this thread have said the “invasion” was a bit of fun, just celebrating, nothing at all etc etc.
That may have been your intention – but not everyone sees it like that. It would only have taken a few Hull fans to consider it provocative, taking the yellow water, showing we think we’re better than they are or whatever.
You must have seen some of them as they were leaving the ground. They aren’t jolly chaps waving a fond farewell to the Premiership – some are as up for trouble as some of ours are. Remember Stoke? Remember Northampton? Not to mention Millwall of course.
If they had decided to come on the pitch too then there would have been some, what papers call, “ugly scenes”. If there had then I trust you grown-ups would have accepted your responsibilities in leading youngsters into such a situation. Poeple (some young) would have been injured, the FA would have had an inquiry – and being Wigan and not a “big club” we could have been made an example of and had points deducted if it was serious enough.
So the match controller has a decision to make. Does he put lines of stewards along each stand – spreading the resource thinly, which as we know can then be broken through.
Or does he ensure that the two sets of fans are kept well apart, by doubling up on the North Stand – one line to keep them in, one to keep ours out. And it worked.
And maybe, just maybe, he hoped that our more mature supporters would have influenced the younger elements to stay off the pitch until the end. Unfortunately in that he was wrong. He couldn’t have foreseen that we would score in the last minute. He probably was prepared to accept (reluctantly) that the crowd would come on at the end – but not before. That is what was wrong.
I agree. With a few mins to go I thought why the hell are there no stewards near the raving nutters in ES2. Just because supporters were asked to keep off the pitch at half time doesn’t solve the problem. The safety officer got it wrong.
Interesting perspective, but I can’t recall our fans invading the pitch at any other time in the prem. I think the last one was Reading. The stewards have been able to control the home fans on every occasion since then so why not on Sunday? From where I sit in ES3, I’ve seen every season at the last home game people make their way down to the front chanting “on the pitch”, but they haven’t gone on as they’ve been kept back.I don’t think the Hull match was a particular flashpoint – emotions weren’t exactly running high for a team all but mathematically down. They might have their fair share of idiots, but no more than any other side. I just think that someone made an on the spot decision to have a show of steward strength for an away support celebrating what appeared to be their last away win in this league and that our goal caught them napping.
When I think back to last season and someones decision to let the Man U fans over run the West stand at the end, nothing surprises me anymore.
Anyone remember Crewe in pre-season 09/10 about 300 fans stayed for 10 mins shouting on the pitch .. nothing happened.
