I thought Roger had a half decent game considering he was slightly out of position. None of the glaring errors were his and he scored a cracking goal.
He was terrible in the first half, he played a back pass that damn near cost us a goal within about 5/10 minutes, admittedly he did score and he got better in the second half, but the first 45 he was truly woeful, i lost count of how many times he lost the ball/couldn’t get rid etc.
I can’t blame him though, he’s not a LWB by any stretch of the imagination, asked to do a job that he clearly wasn’t comfortable with. If anything he’s more of a similar player to McCarthy or McArthur by trade.
If we go down, and if he’s played in his natural position, i reckon he could be a stand out player next season!
On a brighter note , If Malaga get anything against Real Madrid tonight they’ll be in with a strong chance of a UEFA place :) :) now that would take the edge off the drop.Aren’t Malaga banned from the next European competition they qualify for due to financial irregularities?
To be honest, I reckon that if Figueroa had a right foot on him he could have got rid of it easily, the only reason he passed it back was because he’s all left.
If you look at the highlights, he hesitates, then knocks it back to Joel with his left.. He could have hit it upfield with his right from that position.
I don’t get why some players can’t even kick with their weaker foot and others can produce a goal like McManaman did!
Dunno about the presentation but when one of them crap bands was playing before kick off last week I was having a look round to see where the hell they were actually playing from & couldn’t spot emI couldn’t figure it out either but my Dad (70 years old!!!) found them, they were right next to the scoreboard at the Millwall end.
I should also have mentioned I’d be after 2 tickets, one Adult and one Senior!
Thanks!
StephenWe’re the same, making a weekend of it, partly because we can’t get back!
Going from Manchester on the first train Saturday, bit of time around the city and lunch, off to the game and then for a Brick Lane curry…
Unfortunately i noticed that as we’re staying in Canary Wharf, we’re on the direct tube line from Millwall to Wembley…
Sure it’ll be fine! ;)
Sorry to bump this thread but haven’t been able to sign in for a bit and i wanted to add my comment!
I would go for Canvey Island, I may be wrong here (and probably am!) but this in my mind sticks out as the low point before we completely powered up the old 2nd Div. and got to where we are now…
Maybe not a great goal in itself, but it sparked everything that’s happened since…
In my memory anyway!
We had a spate of very effective Premiership has been right backs, Nicky Eaden, Carl Bradshaw, Jeff Kenna and Scott Green all pop into the head, A lot of our goals throughout the Jewell era came from the right hand side, Linking up with the Liddell’s and Teale’s.
Wasn’t Jeff Kenna a Left Back? Remember him scoring his only goal for us in the 6-1 against Stoke.
Good Ol’ Days!!
Was sad that we didn’t keep him on… He did well for us!
Anybody remember Paul Dalglish getting sent off twice in two games?
or 5’2 Darren Sheridan squaring up to some 6′ odd defender that time?
and didn’t Paul Mitchell get sent off at Wrexham about 2 minutes into his debut?
Fun times!!
Actually, that’s a good one, has anyone got any truly funny memories of watching Latics?
I’ll give you a MILF,
Google Images and type in Emmanuelle Beart, she’s late 40’s but jesus!!
and no she’s not the Emmanuelle from the films! :)
