There’s a difference between quantity and quality. Some of us can manage both.
Don’t talk to me about quantities!
The good news is you have £1.5m more than you thought you did and still have a full squad.
a full squad?
swat!A copy of our first ever match in The Premier League 8 years later.Sky TV Cameras in the house.
Raise the spirits of the players to ruin the European Champions.
Thank Roberto Martinez for not accepting scouse or vile offers.
Thank the chairman for supporting Roberto and our club.
Welcome the new players to our club.
First game of a historic season.
The players enjoy it, the manager enjoys it, the chairman enjoys it, the directors enjoy it and we enjoy it.
Meet n Greet for the anniversary of our opening Premier League fixture and get the boys off on the right foot.
No doubt Martinez’s decision to stay was made easier by the wonderful support given by Wigan Athletic fans in the face of relegation.
I’ve set up recurring tweets and Facebook posts via Gremlin Social. Going to be meeting from 11.30 and will have to wait until Jason is back to confirm Supporters Club bar will be open.
i never attend the ‘meet and greet’ myself as i am always in the pub but fair play to you and good luck for sunday and for the rest of the season
it was acknowledged as making a difference last season (by RM and by the players) and will hopefully continue to do so this season, particularly for the new boys to whom it may come as a welcome surprise on day 1
he ought to play the first half for us
and then the second half for them
with £10M cash changing hands at half time in the centre circle
No prizes for guessing what St Peter said to Barbara at the pearly gates ;)and if she did blag it, i bet he didn’t offer white mice and jelly teddies on the way in

Cracking stuff george, I bet your collection is superb. Was that a certain Andy Saville scoring a rare third?yes, off a sublime through ball from Mr Martinez
Or perhaps Martinez is going to become a player/manager and show our current lot how to score some goals.for Liverpool?
I would love it, if it was a ploy by DW / RM to reinforce the Loyalty to the Latics;he/they could perhaps have done this best by simply saying no at the outset?
Released from Man UtdWe are all well aware of how desperate Dave Whelan has been in trying to sign him for about 8 years. He is in the twilight of his career and is the only thing we slightly lack for me. A six yard box striker, A poacher. A two year deal and relegation escape clause is very realistic now in my view. Especially as he more or less needs to stay local for his stables. Bolton and Blackburn going have paved the way for us to make a firm first move. Can’t see Whelan and Martinez idling on this one if they think something can be done. He would suit our style perfectly providing he can keep fit.
yosser,
did you desert the ‘never going again (until Whelan has spent some of his millions on players)’ brigade when things started to look up towards the back end of the season?of the next 24 games – win 8, lose 8, draw 8
set us up nicely to win the last 2
finish with 44 points, 15th place
Be careful they could lock you up for such optimism !
this was my forecast after the blackburn game in mid-november
with only 43 points to aim at now it looks like edinburgh latic was right and i was being a little optimistic after all ;)
other than that i like the idea of a new song based on the lyric, “i’d give my left testicle for 3 points tonight”
Underground, overground, one-ball for three
Back to back wins in March, eunuchs are weWill this do you for starters?
Brilliant! That deserves a cider. Brick, 630 for 645?
yes very good, though not one that the West Stand are likely to join in withAgain we’ll have to agree to disagree.
I’ve no doubt that it provides a brief boost to their ego & what not but when it comes to kick off it won’t be making a blind bit of difference. It won’t do any harm & if its what you like then knock yourself out but it won’t be making any difference during the game
On to that singing & chanting, providing an intimidating atmosphere during a game can obviously influence a hell of alot from your own team to nervous opposition players to referees. Completely different kettle of fish to 20 – 100 people (no idea how many go) clapping & cheering when you get off the coachin terms of the meeters and greeters …
doing nothing would DEFINITELY not help
doing something may POSSIBLY helpit’s not really for me but fair play to those who are making the effort
i have sharpened my scissors and said goodbye to my left testicle just in case
Whilst I admire your effeorts to co-ordinate this type of thing (even if it isn’t my cup of tea) I really hope you’re unsuccessful in getting this absolute turd of a tune played as the players come out. Please leave it in the music bin in which you found it!! ;)some/many of you won’t have witnessed it but this song was used as a bit of a rabble rouser before our first ‘proper’ game at the new stadium (against Scunthorpe)
i seem to recall that it went down rather well at the timeother than that i like the idea of a new song based on the lyric, “i’d give my left testicle for 3 points tonight”
Would some of these ” Proper fans ” still go to games if we got tonked every single week ? Not many I would say !!we got tonked every single week in September and October and haven’t won at home since august yet people have continued to turn up
last saturday was frustrating but enjoyable for most people
everybody has a right to express their opinion but continuous moaning and stating the obvious just gets on peoples t1ts, particularly when it is from relatively new fans
try posting something completely positive (or at least made up of constructive criticism), even if it is about fishing methods, and see how it feels – we are all in this together, including you :)
For the Man Utd game, purchasing one ticket will not suffice, and if people purchase tickets and then don’t attend, it is flagged up.
I didnt say they didnt attend – there are plenty of Man Utd fans within a 5 mile radius of the DW who would have attended, and probably attended against Swansea and/or Villa, and will probably attend against Stoke on 31 March, just to get a ticket for the 16th April. There’s also plenty of Wigan people who will be wanting a last chance to see Man Utd live, who will be attending games at the moment to qualify for the right to buy a ticket – Lets see if all these “new fans” still turn out to watch the game against Newcastle, where you may expect the crowd to be around 23,000, seeing as the away end will sell out.
I would have thought that it would be cheaper and less hassle for anyone who was desperate to watch Man United live to simply buy a ticket for a game at Old Trafford. -
