You dont mind selling anything, if you buy something just as good as replacement.
Looking at yesterdays Daily Mail and seeing an article on Whelan has left doubts. He says quite openly he regrets not buying Man Utd when offered, does this mean he regrets buying Wigan?
Easy way to increase revenue, put the fatties rent up.
OK then, were in talks with a few players and Whelan anounced one would sign Tuesday, next Tuesday. I believe we are in talks with Moses and Bodde as well, talks have yet to reach the advanced stage yet like they are at with Diame, but it’s worth keeping your eyes open in January. Great eh?
Must just be the BBC telling lies again then.
“In the season that has just finished [2008/09] we think the growth is going to be a little bit lower, but it is going to get clubs up to that magical £2bn mark – which is a remarkable achievement, an average of £100m a club in the Premier League.”
In 2007, £60m. Check the added website.
So why will they go to Fulham?
Im not going to argue, I just want you to tell me, before the Premier league, we were signing players from the same division, even higher divisions. Henri Camara, Arjan DeZeuuw to name two, but more than that, the team which took us to the Premiership, was virtually the same team that took us to the Championship. We didnt sell all our players, the ambition was there for the world to see. The Wigan people saw it as every season the crowds increased, until?
The crowds when Whelan took over where around 3000, yet we managed to sign quality players, build a new stadium and climb to the Premiership.
We were getting no financial help, the prize money for promotion about 100k. Then we get to the Premiership, get 60million off tv, the attendances increase 5 or 6 times, the sponsorship etc increases and every year we sell our best players.
I still go as last night and will continue to do so, but surely you understand the frustration. Were currently in negotiations to sign a Spanish second division midfielder with a dodgey ticker to replace our Premiership England under 21 international. To replace £18m of Premiership winger, we look to the Spanish second division.
Im going to stop now as I get myself worked up, if possible forget Whelan and just concentrate on the club.Wolves team was good, but boy do I wish we had fans with your passion, our ‘support’ is shocking
19 August 2009 at 3:28 pm in reply to: This One’s For All Those That Booed And Started Moaning #5592The players performed badly, but not as bad as the supporters. All the game we got one quick burst of Roberto Martinez from about a dozen in the East stand, the rest of the match nothing. Not a come on Wigan, not a we love you Wigan, absolutely nothing. The Wolves fans were trying to get us into life, but it didn’t work, our support certainly last night was as they said, s++t!
Or may be Villa didnt just perform well?
