I am new to these forums, despite my advancing age!! and what strikes me is the negativity of a lot of the posts- we played swansea, away, their first game at home in the prem.-probably the worst time to play them, yet we got a draw-didn’t play well, but should have won-I know the team is far from perfect, but give them a chance- ;)
the thing is, I don’t understand why people who have been watchin’ latics since the ’70s are fed up of struggling teams- remember the kenny swain era, anyone??! :doh: and not going to games anymore,but, each to their own.
As for the present, we can’t spend what we don’t have, who’s next for financial meltdown….? sunderland? …. stoke? …
I am convinced we will be ok this year- we have a young team which can only get better,but that’s not to say we don’t need 2 or three additions to the squad,and I think we will get them – god knows who, mind you! :think:
anyway, the gist is, chill… things are not as bad as you might think!no,not a chance! Personally, I would have been happy to see swp at wigan, but dw will never fork out 4mill. and 50k per week for a 30yo. Dave would never get his money back!
I would sooner support a team that tries to cut it’s cloth accordingly rather than the likes of Leeds did-and we do have a manager and chairman who have a passion for the team and a vision for the future.
We (fans) have to remember that we are punching way,way above our weight in terms of league status (and long may it continue). :angry-soapbox:
Martinez is by no means perfect, but I do believe there are plans in the pipeline to replace the zogmeister and cleverley-just let’s hope it’s not those two new mascots :Dme and me lads got ours on friday-only applied for ’em last monday as well. The woman at the dw said they were sending the tickets out thursday last week- so, assuming 20000 tickets to post :lol: there might be a bit of a delay.
the thing is, the media will always hate us-so what?! we should turn it into a positive, a bit of a siege mentality kind of thing and continue to prove them all wrong! We all know who we are and where we came from so sod ’em all. Tom Cleverley will know what we did for him and so will Alex Feguson-and that’s what matters.
