I agree to the most part. In my eyes, DW is the reason we have achieved all that we have done, he IS wigan athletic through and through….. and he was right to get rid of mr coyle when he did- good timing indeed. the only problem is that it was a mistake to bring mr coyle to the club in the first place. so I hope he takes a bit of time to make the next decision. it could be the difference between getting back to the premier league or slipping back down to lower league mediocrity… either way, I’ll stick with the team though.
I agree. coyle is bereft of ideas unfortunately, and playing a loanee who hasnt played for a year then dragging him off at halftime will have done wonders for his confidence.
as i have already said, he clearly has deep seated opinions, and he didn’t have to please the television media
the man is a staunch republican….. fair enough to him….. i vehemently disagree with his politics/beliefs, but i can understand why he wouldn’t want to wear a poppy.
I’m pretty sure the likes of st helens and wigan wouldn’t want to merge anyway….it’d be like asking city to merge with united.
I like the idea concerning the “beefed up” league and revised play-off as suggested by mutty. The only thing I can’t get me head round is the “closed shop” – no promotion /relegation. To me, this is an essential part of league sport,so as to maximise interest both at the top and bottom of the league.
Saying that, rugby league just doesn’t seem to have either the strength in depth or finances to support a successful multi league set up.
i do agree though, that strength in depth won’t be achieved by setting up new RL outposts in various parts of the country, which usually have neither the funds or infrastructure to even hope to be a success. It’s probably best to concentrate on the fact that it’s a (mostly) north of england dominated sport and maximise whatever potential there is in that area.If it’s true, it’d be a brilliant bit of business!
Indeed- decent band! and very much like thin lizzy….. which is no bad thing!
Apparently, he’d just completed his debut in qatar and ended up in hospital with stomach pains, which turned out to be appendicitis, which wasn’t treated in time and he developed peritonitis and then the heart failure.
ok Egg- thanks for that
Could we end up playing one of the other english PL teams?? such as swansea??
how the mighty have fallen!
If mccarthy is in the last year of his contract,I’d probably sell him now rather than wait ’til january (assuming he wants to go of course)and get a lot less money for him then, especially since we are well covered for his position.
i think it’s a bit different with maloney, his position will be much harder to cover as efficiently and, since he’s on a 3 year contract, we could hold on to him ’til january and still be in a good bargaining position with him.
Ideally though, i wouldn’t sell either of them if they were happy to stay.
absolute rubbish saint! we’ll only finish runners up in the league! :)
I’d have hugo back, no problem. not so sure about palacios though.
