I’d have deffo gone- not likely to happen again for us, but I’m now working in sunny qatar, so it’s a bit far Won’t even get to any europa matches either :(
JPC, how long are you in qatar? I’m due to fly out on the 4th june to work. and It would be good to meet a fellow latic to dampen down my homesickness! :)
Mrs. Thatcher’s government made the decision to destroy the coal industry for political reasons- not economic. She feared the miners because they were instrumental in bringing down ted heath a few years earlier. She was scared of the power wielded by the NUM and wanted an end to them-ruining communities in the process. Top lady.
I agree! I get narked when I see egg chasers- local lads- who support football teams as well,but not the latics eg: man utd usually. I can’t understand that, so fair enough to Egg if he’s a latic. good luck to the mon.
I think there will be 15-20k at the semifinal and if there are some “neutrals” or so called “johnny come lately” there, so what?
We all moan when “neutral”wiganers don’t come to our games and moan again when they do- and you never know,a few of them might like what they see and decide to come again-that’s how we build up the fanbase! At least they’ll (hopefully) be cheering the latics on!
As a matter of fact, me and my lads are travelling down with a warriors season ticket holder/evertonian. He’s bought his ticket fair and square and he’s looking forward to the game as much as I am!
The only problem I could see is if we were playing a team like man utd, in which case,a lot of the wigan/plastic reds would try to get tickets in our end and doubtless be a nuisance. If SDW et al upsets LOTP so much,why read their comments?? I don’t care much for Wigan RL myself,but I don’t go onto their forums to give them grief- I honestly couldn’t be bothered what they do or think.
A couple of lads I know are both warriors fans and UTD fans as well, as a matter of fact, and if I DO give them grief,(which I do) it’s because they are wiganers who support UTD, rather than because they are rugby fans.
I am old enough to remember the sarcastic and patronising comments meted out by Lindsey and his cronies in years gone by, so I can see where SDW is coming from-but the Latics have moved on now- we might have wanted help from the rugby team then, but we certainly don’t need it now.

Apparently, Moyes, kenright, fellaini, neville and jelavic all need to be sacked immediately -if not hanged, drawn through the streets of liverpool and quartered on the goodison centre circle.!
