OK look at it differently then. A great tactical change by Caldwell in bringing on two strikers and moving his left sided midfielder in to his natural position. This changed the match from one we were chasing to one where we were in accendency and eventually won. Well done Gary.
Or just out of bloody mindedness Grant Holt!!!
Or one we have loaned out say Tavernier. He has been superb at Bristol and last year at Rotherham.
Well I hope the Nobbers do bottle it but with a decent manager with a regular two strikers and positive football looks like Nob End have found the secret to promotion.
Let us hope whoever leads the Latics next season follows a similar formula to success. No tippy tappy sitting back and equally no hoof ball but a mixture of everything. The type of football Uwe promised and the type of football we were used to before Martinez. There will be quite a few easy trips. Rochdale, Fleetwood, Oldham, Port Vale, Crewe etc.
Wetting my appetite already all those real clubs.Makes no difference where we will be I for one will be watching the lads next season and looking forward to some interesting away games too.
Spoke with some Charlton lads last season who loved it in div three and they only started watching away games that season and thoroughly enjoyed it but they were fans and not JCLs.I would like to see that start on Saturday Egg mon.
How about a cheeky bid for Ojo. 50k and a set of rollers for their Marg.
Just quoted Rhodes and Adomah because of the rumours we were signing them. Unfounded rumours and probably made up and distorted to spoon feed us gullible fans with bullshit and sound bites.
We were paying more than what we could afford??? How could we afford his wages 4 months earlier when we signed him? He was signed then on this seasons pay structure.
Nowt wrong with most of them. Fortune however will be joining Gomez at Makemland on a three year contract.Thank goodness.
What can we expect from selling McClean 50p and a jar of Uncle Joes?
3rd tier may be his level.
Strange some say we are back where we belong. I would say we are in the hands of our multi millionaire owner and back wherever he decides he wants us to be are can be arsed for us to be.Three ordeals left for the ever suffering Latics faithfull and now we are virtually down even with three wins it is time to see some of the youngsters. Waghorn has never been the answer but after seeing the performances of MAF its only a natural thing for the fans to demand something different. The obvious one hasn’t been used Waghorn at the side of MAF. I myself was surprised when we signed Waghorn last season because he hadn’t looked that special.
After last nights suicidal display he should be out devoting with the groundstaff at half time. Or out making a public apology on the P.A system.Different types of player and Jason was playing the lone striker roll in the Premier League and looked terrible. Fortune has played against lower quality defenders and at some times he has had a strike partner even if at times that partner has been a midfielder playing out of position. Even though Fortune is a holding type of striker his goal return is truly abysmal. Disgusting really and for this not to have been seen and rectified by Coyle, Rosler, MacKay and now Caldwell or even the powers that be above is astonishing beyond belief to add to the many astonishing decisions taken this season.
To be fair to Coyle he did drop this Chocolate Fireguard striker and like everyone else he was in and out of the side under Herr Swappenchange but McKay had him as first choice striker with this continued in Caldwells first two crucial games. He still is not scoring goals and even for a holding striker this is just not good enough so yes Fortune is worse than Scotland and probably worse than Neil Morton. And if a quality striker and winger had been signed last season sort of like Rhodes and a decent winger sort of like Adomah we would have won automatic promotion but we bought Fortune and McClean instead.
