So if we’re a laughing stock now how much more fun would folk have if we got relegated?

A damn site more than if we got shut and started again with someone half decent and with no baggage.

You’d have been the last person I thought would have come out with something sounding like you give a fck what anyone else thinks. I know I don’t give a shiny shite.

Personally, I don’t think we are a laughing stock. Nobody cares enough about us. And I don’t give a shit what anyone else thinks.

I do think that the players that have been crap all season are more at fault than the manager. But we’re not going to agree on that so there’s little point keep going round in circles.

Just out of interest though, who would you replace him with?

He goes, we get a new start and we’ll get the response everyone is after and we can put this sorry episode behind us.

There is absolutely no guarantee of that, whatsoever.

You think we’re a laughing stock now? Just wait for the reaction if we sacked a manager after 5 games.

    I completely disagree.

Another manager would have us sailing up this league with this squad of players. It happens even to the worst teams, Brum were beaten by 8 one week under Clarke the week after they beat Watford, top of the league, under Rowett.

They’ve been completely negged out by the last couple of managers.

If we just sacked him now and got someone else we’d be mid table come May.

Right, I’ll humour you. For a bit. If neither Coyle, nor Rosler and now Mackay (with his extensive, lengthy tenure of all of 5 games) could get this bunch of players playing, why would someone else? 3 managers, 1 set of players. It’s the squad, not the managers that is the common denominator.

MacLean up front on his own does seem a strange choice, granted, but I can only assume Mackay doesn’t fancy any of the other strikers. In terms of that lone, hold-up role, I don’t see that Fortune has been doing too much wrong, personally.

With regards to this thread topic do you really think sacking managers is the way to go? Three managers in less than one year, increasingly woeful performances under all three yet sacking managers is the solution to the problem?

To be fair Sammy, the lad has been here for 5 games now. How much longer does he actually need to sort thsi ou without being able to bring in any of his own players?

I see he has mentined again that Holt is due back on 1st Jan, so he obviously fancies giving him a go.

So according to most we had the best squad in the division. Who are you going to bring in, who are you going to clear out?

Start with the manager and put Barry Chuckle in instead and we wouldn’t see a dafter set up than yesterday. All this player business doesn’t matter a jot if he plays a team like he did yesterday.

Show me a player who doesn’t need confidence and right mind set to play a game of football, this fella doesn’t instil it with that shambles of a set up.

Leeds should be there for the taking if he gets it right but can’t see him changing his way to be honest, good time for a boycott.

You do realise the players are the team, don’t you?

    Absolute bollocks

We should never start set up like that at home. This mon is worse than anything that has gone before him in recent times if that’s his answer.

Some of these lads have never had the chance to play in the way they were purchased and why we spent so much on them.

Tavernier was on the front of the programme and the writers obviously thought he’d have great input into the Rotherham side as their player of the year last year. Did he even make the bench?

Take your head out your arses.

Oh well, if you say so, Tez.

Oh, I can – and happily do – take criticism. From people whose opinion matters, that is.

Thing is to be fair griff, EVERYONE’S opinion matters. Tis the beauty of forums to allow people to voice their opinion with regards this football club.
Totally agree there Runcorn, everyone’s opinion does indeed matter. It matters that they have the right to voice them; it matters that they have contributed to a discussion; it matters that their opinion may be in conflict of others to stimulate debate; it matters that it adds balance; it matters because that they have used the information they have gleaned on a topic to actually formulate an opinion on it. I think it’s good to see/view/appreciate/digest others opinions so that I can see what others are thinking and that I’m not just living in some utopian dream state – I’m happy to be living amongst real people with real views and opinions (however they are formed).
Might not surprise you to learn that you are right at the top of the list of people whose opinion really doesn’t matter to me.

Er, no… everyone is ENTITLED to an opinion. It is entirely up to each individual whether that opinion MATTERS to them. There are plenty of people whose opinion matters to me. Very few frequent this forum.

Especially those who only show up to belly-ache when the team loses.

I’ve been on here since its infancy and it is still the best end of.

Some of us are still in our infancy, and revelling in it ;)

I never said it’s a wind-up (though sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t) I said I don’t take it seriously and find it amusing that others do.

No you didn’t in this thread, however, if you were to read my post correctly (get someone to help if you need to) then you will realise that I was talking generally about your comments overall.

And if you read mine correctly (a stretch for you, I admit) the “sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t” line is a good indicator that I wasn’t talking about one specific post.

Oh yeah, the fat lad thing… as someone who has spent most of both his teenage and adult life being riduculed for being painfully thin, you’ll understand that being called fat is actually bordering on comforting for me. I could, if I chose to of course, diet. On the other hand, being a “daft old twat” is probably something you’re stuck with now.
