Very disappointed.

Evans will go, Powell will be sold off cheaply, probably on deadline day at 10.58pm. 2 million to Villa, paid in installments.

2 days after end of deadline, sale of club will go through and we will be minus Evans and Powell, and unable to bring in a replacement even if the new owners make money available.

Hopefully, they’ll throw a few knobhead fans into the deal as well to complete the clear out
You still here?

Thought youd gone back to going to Old Trafford.
Nope, just popped back to see if you were both still here, Dave

I have been watching The Latics since 1971, when Gordon Milne was manager, or it could be 1970, its a long long time ago any way.

I have had a season ticket at the JJB/DW Stadium since it opened in 1999 bar 1 season when we last went into 3rd level football, although we still went to about 10 games.

However, we didn’t renew this year because we would miss the 1st few games anyway because of holidays and other commitments already made before the seasons fixtures came out.

There are 3 of us that normally go 2 adults and our under 18 grand child. Anyway, we decided that we would go today and went online for 2 adults and 1 under 18 tickets only to be issued with a bill of £58 + a transaction fee of? ..anyway I cancelled immeadiately.

This club wanted to charge me over £60 (including the trans fee) to watch a 3rd level football match, and looking at some other games coming up they want to charge me around £77
for 3rd level football for 2 adults and a under 18 ticket.

This is an absolute disgrace, and I will not be going to ANY games at all this season or any other for that matter at these prices. I am discussed with the club, I will still be supporting them but via WISH FM from now on and probably for ever. They have lost some very long term supporters here.

An absolute disgrace, hang your head in shame Wigan Athletic

Just a little pedantic point in your penultimate paragraph – your current actions lead me to consider that you won’t really “still be supporting them” will you?

I’m beginning to think Division 1 is our new level and can see us ping ponging between div 1 and the Championship.

    That’s always been our level

    #toomanythinkwearerealmadrid-eyerollythingy
To be fair Griff, I reckon we should be at least Championship level as we have spent a third of our football league history in the top 2 tiers, 13 seasons out of the last 15!
And therefore two-thirds out of the top 2 tiers.
Hence my parting shot of 13 out of last 15 seasons because we have moved forward as a club!
Nobody in their right mind truly believes that Wigan’s true position is where they spent those thirteen years. It’s no coincidence that as soon as the Whelan and TV money dried up we quickly went back to where we really belong.
Eight of those were in the top flight and I don’t for one minute think we are top flight material, never really did but we are Championship standard these days and if we go up this season it will prove it, watch this space !
No, we’re not. Every time we get in the Championship we fall straight back out of it as quickly as we possibly can. Even when we got into it from the top end!

Not sure where you think the money is coming from to finance a sustained crack at the Championship. It’ll be hard enough in this league
Bad decisions in my opinion saw us drop back into League One ( Both times!) This time will be different, you’ll see ! The squad we have as it stands ( Could change in next hour! ) is plenty good enough to go straight back up again.
You need to stay off your Bob’s gear… I see you’ve gone no less deluded in the time I’ve been way

Let’s hope we see abit more of him this time round. He came last time with a long term injury so I just hope that whoever’s done the medical does abit more than cupping his sack and asking him to cough

Ahem!… From the BBC, this just in…

    21:30
    Medical? Just touch your toes
If you’re worried about your club not getting the medical done before the 11pm deadline, fear not EFL fans.

According to Wigan’s new signing Alex Bruce, it can just be a case of “touch your toes and you’re in.”

No CT scans in League One.

Its up to the manager and coaches to motivate the players not the managers bar pals.

It’s up to the manager to decide who and what methods he uses to motivate the players. Thankfully, it’s nowt to do with you

NO I won’t. Please don’t post stuff like that about me, you don’t actually know me. None of you do.

    I do

The puppet has admitted dropping Gilks was nowt to do with him.

    PUPPET OUT

Apparenty, he dropped Gilks because it would have been Gilks’ 10th game and we’d have had to pay Rangers a fee for him.

But aside from that, you still reckon Sharpe is picking the team?
What do you mean ‘aside from that’?

Barrow didn’t drop Gilks,he was told he couldnt play him, hence he wasn’t allowed to select the team he wanted too.

Its not that difficult is it?
Oh, I don’t know. You seem to be struggling with it.

A supporter should get it From
the east stand was so incensed at a bit of poor play by Powell that he gave him a tirade of abuse that Powell reacted to with a few gestures.
Fast forward a few minutes and an angry and fired up Powell went on to win a dangerous free kick and then hit one of the best free kicks I have seen down there for a long while. He showed passion and heart and it makes you wonder whether it was a turning point for him. .
Would he have done all that without that spat with the supporter ?

Yes, because, for once, Powell had it on him and was fired up from the second he came on. So no, the supporter takes no credit whatsoever.

Fair play to him, though. I’m impressed an Eaststander had even managed to get himself sat facing the pitch. Not so bright, folk over that side

Oh and you took the bait and bit like a ghost carp grabbing a chunk of luncheon meat….

    Easy catch, really.

Aye, alright. Keep it up Daves, highly amusing stuff from you both.

And nope, it was neither Jonny nor George who alerted me. Unlike me last night, they had better things to do I would guess.
