Go support a team with your level of enthusiasm – Martinez needs the support of real fans who encourage and support and believe in the players he sees fit to play premiership football. You should support a team with your level of support like Bolton – Megson would welcome you as a fan in Championship!

Who are you talking to?

in reply to: not good enough for prem #14924
I’ll whisper this – Michael Owen wouldn’t have come to Wigan

Thanks. Sometimes, it really is like banging your head against the wall.

running around like a young pup, bags a hat trick, superb off the ball movement,no hes not good enough owen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TAXI FOR WHELAN

Value for money, was what Whelan was referring to. At the time, Owen was looking for wages close to the £100k per week he was on. If Whelan had brought Owen in on that kind of money, I’d have rung for the taxi myself.

I believe he has signed for United for around £20k per week plus bonuses. If Whelan had offered that deal, I would have been happy. Owen, would have still been p****** himself laughing.

You know, it might be an idea for some of you to turn championship manager off once in a while. This is the real world we are dealing with.

Careful what you say griff these men have watched the tics longer than us you’d a thowt they’d know better

Daft thing is, they think because I, and others like you, are not bursting into tears and having a hissy fit because we are losing more games than we win at the moment, they somehow know more about football than we do.

I support this great football club of ours, not the premier league, so if we get relegated yet still have a viable club to watch every week, then that’s fine by me. In fact, it will be better. Not that I think we will get relegated this season, by the way. But it will happen, one day, and when it does I’ll still be here having a laugh and really not going all postal because I think our right-back is a bit too quiet.

I can see all the same faults that our new (and some not so new) supporters can but I am fairly relaxed about the situation and hope that the manager turns it round. He might, he might not. What amazes me is the arrogance of the know-all’s who are convinced they can sort out this club in five minutes flat and assume because the rest of us disagree 100% with their views, we know nowt. This being the case, I can’t work out why they, like us, are fannying about on message boards all day when they clearly have all the answers to football’s ills at their fingertips. There must be a queue of club chairmen waiting to employ them.

Anyway, it’s time to give the lad his tea and get him ready for bed. Far more rewarding than listening and responding to all this tedium, day in day out.

Loudmouth – don’t feel persecuted. This isn’t (just) directed at you.

is this the worst ever team to wear a latics shirt ,fire power is poor midfield is disorganised deffence as gone awol ,manager clueless chairman hopless my spelling whale .

be very careful in what you say you will have Laurence Llewelyn-Griffin and the spanish ‘style‘ gestapo after your blood.
Anyway, how come I have become the main pro-Martinez man? There are far more vociferous* supporters of Martinez than me.

* it’ll be towards the back, under “v”

Why don’t you both bog off to Bolton, their fayre may be more to your liking?

in reply to: Season of the Yoyo #14892

No, I can’t do sarcasm either.

in reply to: trialist #14867

Just what we need, someone who will nob off to the African Nations Cup for a month.

Bloody rubbish, Martinez :?

in reply to: The time to judge Martinez #14847
”Tyldesley lad your sounding like vat” :o :o :o

Seriously though. How long is giving him a chance??

TL, I have always respected your opinion here, even though i think this one of the few subjects we disagree on.

To answer your question, I would suggest a bit longer than half a season. If we have the same squad and around the same number of points come the end of January, I might, just might, chgange my mind.

if we lost in the champions league final on penalties the dicks on here would find something to moan about.

Too right, it should never have got to penalties in the first place and Kirkland’s back wouldn’t hold up to it anyway

in reply to: Brown why did we ???????????????????? #14779

Longer contract.
Similar wages.(maybe better)
First team place.
South coast.
Backhander ;)

All makes sense to me.

Only makes sense to you though nobody else. He didn’t SAY that he wanted a move so you cannot assume that he did. And 1 million quid? Surely we could have got more OR done without a million quid
Makes sense to me too. :?

What doesn’t make sense is you seeming to think that playersclubs make public their reasons for transfers. ;)

in reply to: Brown why did we ???????????????????? #14774

Brown why did we ???????????????

Simple, his (rumoured) wages of 30k per week.

Better than paying somebody 20k who aren’t as commited, passionate or possibly even as good and influential to have in the side ;)
Unless, of course, the lad wanted to leave anyway.

We need StandishWalker’s input – he is the expert on all things Pompey.

Can you post anything without a sarcastic or pedantic comment?

Depends who I am talking to

in reply to: Season of the Yoyo #14765

Yes, yes, yes Colbob, all well and good. But you forget that today’s discerning Latics fan wants someone to spend hundreds of millions of pounds on established world-class players who have no desire whatsoever to come here and to have Champions League qualification wrapped up by the end of February.

in reply to: ellington the Duke #14763
Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying, why don’t you use your common sense and read the rest of the post.

You are EXACTLY saying that Bent (presumably) tastes better than Ellington?
