Please stop being thick – read this
Right stop talking to me on this thread, it’s had it’s day in the sun. We move on.
It was in reply to Egg, who asked me a question directly. I, me, Tez didn’t want to continue on this thread. I’ve said my piece on the subject. You two crack on if you like, you exciting pair, get it up to a million posts and have a wank for all I care but I’ll take no direction whatsoever from somebody who can’t spell decide. Especially when you’re trying to be clever and failing. :P
Ah, picking up on obvious typos and talking about grown men having a wank; the last diversionary resort of a man (sic) who knows he has failed miserably to win his argument.
Face it Tez, you know fuck all about anything. I have yet to see anyone with half an ounce of common sense agree with you on this forum.
Thick, yeah proper thick, me. Mind you, I must be to get involved with a complete no mark like you.
Egg wake up, that’s my point. We don’t know so stop guessing.Right stop talking to me on this thread, it’s had it’s day in the sun. We move on.
Not sure you should get to deciede anything, let alone whether we have finished with this thread or not.
I don’t think he is crying poverty but in any walk of life, if your wages are cut based on the needs of the business but you stick with them, show loyalty, always bang the drum of the business and do work for them outside of normal hours, you would be pretty pissed off if when they looked to get back on their feet they made you part time. Knowing they would be offering contracts to the likes of 32yr old Perkins from Blackpool plus (allegedly) 15 others.
That’s my take on it, maybe that makes me a compassionate person and somebody who understands and appreciates a loyal servant.
I genuinely worry about the running of our club and where we are headed under the current regime. Did Boyce not get on with Caldwell? Does Caldwell see him as a threat? I’d think we’d want the likes of Boyce at the club rather than journeymen and folk without years of the club at heart.Others seem to accept whatever they are told and we’ve seen where that has got us.
I suspect it also makes you gullible and naive when it comes to running a football club.
Two sides to every story.
I would argue that up until this point I have been far from gullible on all things Wigan Athletic and where we were headed. I wanted Malky gone after 5 games, no sentiment with me where none due!
Others on the other hand…………yes Dave, yes JJ, yes Gary, yes yes yes, whatever you say, ouch my arse is sore
We’re so lucky to have you, the only one who knows anything about anything.
I’ll give up now, can’t possibly compete with you.
Why are folk comparing footballer’s wages to the fan’s wages? Most players in the Conference earn more than us mere mortals!Yay, I agree with you, Phil!! :)
More appropriate to compare Boycey’s wages with other League 1 players, as Standish does in his post.

That would make sense if we want him off the wage bill. I’m sure he came in on a free, and and any fee would probably be minimal anyway.
That said, you’d like to think, if he is fit, that he would get goals in League 1.
No it’s not right. It’s a 1 year dealCourse it’s not right, look who posted it!
I said my season ticket was back on hold because the Boyce business has me thinking that there will be worse to come! I am not a blind faith merchant who would fork out the best part of £350 if a totally shite squad was assembled on the cheap whilst also understanding the position the club are now in re wage structure! I bet they bent over backwards to try and keep Fortuné here and what has he ever done for us?
The comments from the newspaper clip are predominantly against the club’s decision by the way! There does seem to be quite a few on here who will readily accept whatever the club throws at them though, they are the blind faith merchants ( Gotta get behind the club no matter what ) ! There is no common ground between them and the likes of me who has a voice! :) :)And what possible grounds have you got for making that statement? Did they offer Fortune a pay as you play deal to see if he’d stay? No, have they bollocks. Hardly bending over backwards, that!
I’d like to think that they just fucked him off with no talks! Is there any evidence to say otherwise though? Have they just fucked off Kim and Kvist as well with no talks? Who knows? By me quoting “I bet” isn’t saying that I have any grounds whatsoever, the use of the word ‘Bet’ is also a view or opinion, especially about something that cannot be known at the present time! I can just imagine them trying to get him to stay albeit on the cheap!
Fairly pointless, then. Gratuitous and baseless slagging off, though there’s nothing new there, really.
What I do know is that we have signed a 32yr old midfielder( 33 by next season ) from Blackpool! The skies the limit now eh! Out with the old and in with the err old!
I genuinely have no idea why you bother watching Wigan at all, you moaning twat.
No wonder you never manage to see a whole game.
Bit over the top that ain’t it! You argue Boyce is too old and so I mention our latest acquisition who will be 33 come next season and your riposte is that!!
Big difference between 33 and 36. Plus, the lad was the best player on the pitch the last two times he played against us. Not saying much that, granted.
I’ll tell you what, I’ll just sit here and wait patiently for you to say something that’s not totally and utterly negative and then we’ll talk again.
Take care, Phil ;)
I’m gonna be honest with you here, it’s a little hard to be positive about anything Wigan Athletic at the moment! Signing a 33 yr old Blackpool player just strengthens the ammunition that rival fans have against us in the piss taking stakes! We are a fucking laughing stock as it is!
Well, we’d never have guessed.
Guess what, though? You’re right. It is hard.
But at least some of us give it a go.

Can’t see that ending well.I can see it sending soon!!

It is obvious that Mr Whelan is very much still in charge. You are so, so spectacularly wrong, it’s unreal.
Everybody I’ve been in contact with, everyone I have read on social media and 95% on other website forums would seem to disagree with your made up hundreds. Most using the word disgrace.Fortunately, I would appear to mix in different circles. ;)
To be fair, you’re right though, and I have been a little Devil’s Advocate with the Boyce situation.
My initial reaction was one of shock and surprise and I could understand why he is upset. That said, I think disgrace is a bit strong and if I had been asked before hand whether I thought he would/should get a new deal, I would probably have said as a backup player only and if I had to go either way, I’d have gone with no.
As iconic as it was him lifting the FA Cup, and as upset as Paul Kendrick may or may not be about the way he has been treated, those factors should have very little bearing on how we build our squad for hnext season.
If somebody could just help me out with Caldwell being at the club without playing, being in charge of the under 8’s and then becoming manager, compared to us just basically letting our FA Cup winning captain go a year away from a decade at the club. Anyone?
That’s dead easy. He was under contract, but injured. Then he retired as a player. Then he was appointed manager, somehting he had clearly been lined up to do.
Not sure what your point is? Not a rare occurence, granted.
The one additional point is that Caldwell signed a new contract last summer.
Why did the club agree to this? Because they were probably looking to the longer term to bring him into the coaching set-up, therefore created a dual role.
Maybe, who knows?!
