Given a run in a settled team, the lad’s class, as proven at the weekend.
As for the sitter at Bolton, well it wasn’t a sitter was it?
Just glad the German has gone and our good players can get a game again, in a proper formation, with tactics.
I actually don’t blame the players one bit, being constantly shouted at and being dropped after scoring/winning/playing well the week before has killed better players than what we’ve got. I don’t think the players haven’t been trying either. The season starts on Saturday.
I’ll piss myself laughing at you lot if the new fella comes in and plays exactly the same formation and tactics.
Martinez won’t leave Everton
Just to defend Maloney further, he was superb for us until his injury, then found it hard to get a regular start. Looks like he’s getting back to form now.
Now that was clever. I did enjoy that.
You are getting very boring with your put downs, it was quite funny a couple of years back. Even your mate Standish seems to have stopped his synchronized posting tactics:ohmy: Buy hey! what do I know I’m just a good for nothing gobsh1te sh1tstirrer with no friends who has to come on here just to get real human beings to converse with me.
Edited for accuracy.
I come on here to speak to real human beings? The irony of that is astounding!
I see now. What on earth was I thinking?

We are only 12 points (4 wins) from a play-off place. We win 4, others lose & suddenly everything becomes rosy again. If we can get into the top half by january – who knows.
If we win 4 on the trot we would be about 12th, unless all the other teams don’t play at all!
Of course fill i agree not all teams will drop points, but IF we could win 3 or 4 on the bounce, it WILL push us up the table as the teams above us (which at this stage is a lot of teams) will play each other & hence take points off each other. Therefore we move up the table – providing off course we do win 3 or 4 on the bounce.
Don’t get me wrong, I aint knocking it but it will take an almighty effort if we are to challenge for a play off spot! Perhaps we should maybe write this season off as a promotion effort and just get back to being a decent side who can be up there next season! A top 8 finish would be a good effort in the circumstances!
But look where Uwe took us when he took over the reins. I am still of the belief that with the right man in charge and the total support of the playing staff for whoever that may be, then we can still achieve a sound play-off position.
Thanks for your input fella’s and I agree that it would have to come from someone in-the-know and that would indeed be unprofessional. However, as time mooches on maybe something might just slip out to give us an insight as to exactly what went on.
It might come out, but we’ll be back up near the top and pushing for promotion again soon, so we won’t care.
This last few months will be a distant memory.
The Bruce Rioch reign was similar to this, decent players who couldn’t gel under the Manager, these thing unfortunately happen from time to time.
Remember it well.
ever done anything significant to back or support the Latics ? I think the majority of Latics fans would welcome Malky; so she should keep her nose out and stick to sorting out the pot holes and social benefits system out !!!!!!!!!!
Yes – but a cracking pair of pins on it.
cracking pair of pins ??? you need get out abit more, try King st on a Sat. She looks like she’s from a womens rugby team, Greeham common protester.
And when she says
The MP claimed “a number of constituents” had contacted her with concerns over MackayWould it be possible for her to tell us all the secret number ? 1-10-100-1000 ?. Why don’t she do her job and get round Looney Sq in Scholes and houst the smack dealers out. She’s not said she won’t go to the football , , na…., she’ll not pass up on the odd 4 course free luncheon voucher.
I was going to say a cracking pair of t!ts on it, but I didn’t want to appear in any way sexist. ;)

But will a new manager invigorate us or are we destined to go Down Down
You can’t duplicate song titles!
Oops! bugger. But at my age I’m always repeating stuff Again and Again
But will a new manager invigorate us or are we destined to go Down Down
Mackay has alledgedly already been sounded out so i’ll go with him.
Why would you even believe that? Even if it were true, there is no-one who would have been involved in such a sounding out who would even think of making it public.
Anyway, Micky Quinn, talking of Talksport yesterday morning, says he has it on good authority that Mackay is being lined up to take over at Norwich. If I was to believe anybody it would be someone like him, especially as he seemed sufficiently confident to say it live on national radio.
And indeed if that is true, I wonder how the Norwich fans will react to his appointment. Nothing like the over-the-top, PC drama queens I have seen around the boards, I would hope.
Anyway, if he isn’t coming here then good luck to the fella, whatever he does.
I’d live to see Pulis in charge but I have the feeling that these days, after winning premier league manager of the year last season, he will think that taking in the job of a bottom 3 championship club is somewhat below him.If you don’t ask you don’t get I guess but, in footballing terms alone, I’d be happy with MacKay too.
There’s no-one else who stands out to me
Fair call really, however, I suppose it would also depend on what is going through his mind at the moment.
Pulis could take on the job with two objectives in mind: first of all he could stick two fingers up to the institution that put him in this position in the first place and secondly he could see this as an opportunity of winning Championship Manager of the Year (a feat never before achieved). Promotion and a follow on successful season in the Premiership would see his stock so high he could then realise an even better team to manage rather than the struggling Premiership teams who find themselves in need of a change now.
Or, as you say, in footballing terms I too would take MacKay.
Malky mackay for me at cardiff they won the championship at a canter if he had stayed manger at Cardiff they would not have gone downWhaaaaaaat!!!!! Do you really want to be held responsible for an event that would make Masada look like an “and finally” news story?
There are others (elsewhere of course) who are threatening to take their wives and children and flee this hate filled town of ours. Fans writing to the club with threats of boycotting games because their 30 odd years support should mean they have to be listened to when it comes to club business.
Then there is the club stalwart who’s self righteous, holier than thou, never sinned comments about sexist remarks by Makay insult all that he holds dear yet had an avatar of a girl with her t1ts out.
There is self flagellation going on in some quarters tonight but I would ask each and everyone of those hand wringing, teeth sucking, Guardian reading politically correct (when it suits) objectors to look Mr Whelan in the eye and say: I object because I have NEVER EVER made ANY remark in my life that could have been considered either sexist, homophobic or racist. Nor have I EVER laughed at ANY comment or joke about the same – then and only then would their opinion about how he runs his business could be heard – then disregarded as it has nothing at all to do with them.
There has always been talk about fickle Wigan fans, well I put to all, there is also another breed.
Oh! I would have no objection to his appointment, and if it meant that only true supporters came to the DW then so be it.
whelan been on granada reports and says he has no one lined up, then again yesterday he said rosler was still the man for the job. Never liked pulis when he was at stoke but think he would do a good job, but do we want to play the “stoke way”.
If it’s better than the Rosler way and the Coyle way – then I’ll give it a go
Yes – but for how long?
Right, see ya all then because the man upstairs has made his decision and so there is fuck all else to discuss for now, unless of course you want to talk about England and somehow I doubt that! All the current threads are just going round in circles with differing views that at the end of the day will not change the status quo!
No doubt my closing Latin phrase will have some of you adding stuff like ” Well I think we are going ‘Down Down'” or ” The team seem to ‘Roll Over Lay Down’ to easily “! So if that is ‘What You’re Proposing’ then bring em on, it will take your mind off the other banal threads! :)WTF….Have you been putting more than clean water in your bucket fil old boy? :cheer:
I think it was a case of It’s Marguerita Time. :S
