I’ve put it in here, the football section, because it is to do with Latics, and the fact that certain people have such a hatred for us.
JayT knows all about this, as along with myself, we have recently been having some very highly-charged ‘debate’ with one of the main ‘faces’ from within the rugby lot. Also, Adam Conroy, who supports BOTH football and the rugby, has attempted to compromise with him, defending Latics side of things, but to no avail.
It started on Facebook. I have a bloke linked, who I have known for years. He’s from Old Skem, originally, and he and his family have always followed Wigan rugby. Ok, there’s no problem with that, is there? However, when this guy starts professing how much he hates us on Facebook, and then starts bickering with me and posting sheer hateful comments (of Latics), I took exception. I felt I was being ganged up on by the rugby lot, so I showed it to JayT as well. Between us, we put a well contructed string of replies to his vitriolic comments, but typically, he wouldn’t have it.
And again, after that Chelsea game, he was in full flow again, spitting his hatred for us. Again, for what it is worth, I have replied, defending Latics. Now, this guy has known me since I was a baby. He knew me as a football-daft kid, who always had a ball at my feet. I was football-kit mad, having all kinds of tops, largely because there was a cheap sports shop in Old Skem where you could get them from. I had all sorts. But I digress. You know what this fella has come out and said?“I remember you as a boy, in your Man Utd shirt. Turncoat. Who will you support next?” I mean, for Pete’s sake, he’s talking about a TEN year old kid, here. Plus, he knows fine and well that I’ve followed Latics for years, with my dad, through the leagues.
And this is coming from a 42 year old bloke. How incredibly sad.
The bloke is called MIKE HEYES. I would bet a pound to a penny that this fella is one of the MAIN aggressors towards Latics on their websites.

PS: I believe JayT was with Adam Conroy a few weeks ago, and Adam had Mike Heyes on the phone, and yet when JayT wanted to speak to him, he claimed to Conroy that he didn’t know who he was. :roll: Despite having a slanging match with him on facebook, days previously.
(MODS: Not sure if it’s right posting this, but this fella is so against latics, I think people should know about it. He’s also a very good friend of a certain M.L. Honestly.)

You don’t know the half of it, mate. It’s been going on for about 3 or 4 weeks. JayT has already had a big debate with him about it, and I think he’ll be having another one. ;)
Banter? No, it isn’t. I never actually realised that they hate us as much as they do. Seriously. All that anti-Latics stuff on websites, and all that? I would bet that this fella is behind a lot of it. Make no mistake, if we ever go to the wall, this guy will be holding the biggest street party since the end of WW2……with his friend Maurice as VIP guest.

Not moidering them… Not reporting anybody, BUT I dont expect to be punished when I slightly change words to abuse swear filter.
As Team Capt I now have to set an example and will not be reporting people unless it is an incident such as Mr.N’zogbiaskeftpeg’s the other day
I don’t really want to see him playing for us, but at the same time who else are we likely to get? That’s the sad situation a club like ours is in, our transfer targets are generally nothing to write home about – you just have to hope that most of them find good form for the team.Or go abroad and hope they turn good..such as Rodallega, chimbonda etc. But to be fair I would still like to see Nugent here.

He’s a big lad though. Isn’t one that is just a pace player. What I mean is he will put up a fight when needed. He has never been given a chance REALLY aswell.

No he was on loan to Burnley from Pompy. I would have him here as he scored a few for Burnley this season. Would rather have Beattie or somone else thoughBut Nugent scored a few, Beattie only scored 2, and Nugent is younger.
