Is Caldwell and Ramis defintely out? Anyone else seriously worried about Lopez starting agt the likes of Dzecko (aerial ability) and Tevez/Aguero (speed).

I reckon he might play Jones and the 2 Macs, Stam and Beau with Gomez playing behind Kone?

Gomez behind Kone and who though? Is Maloney out? And if Maloney is fit what does he do with the front 3?

Simple option would be to stick with Gomez behind Kone and get Di Santo back in (Just because it is his position) .. But not really fair to leave Maloney out if he’s fit. Looking forward to seeing what he does.

I can see the front 3 being just that, Gomez, Kone and Di Santo.. Even if Maloney is available.

Unsure what Ramis and Caldwell’s situation is.

admire your optimism pal, but you should bet with your head not your heart…..it’s all about winning money when you bet…………

        WAFC 1 v MCFC 3 (20,097) ;)

Fook it, it’s payback time again for that goater w***er…………..WAFC 1 v MCFC 0

I think my genuine belief that we will win the majority of games leads me to feel even worse when we lose! But eh well I can deal with it, better than being negative.

And I completely agree that betting with your head not your heart is clearly the way to bet, but putting Wigan to win (9 times out of 10) pays bigger bucks ;) .. But I have a feeling we will actually win today, I genuinely think that, (Not sure why, just do) so technically I will still be betting with my head :cheer:

He tooknWilson Palaceous from us 4 years ago and annoyed me greatly at the time.

To be fair, he did give us £12m to take him from us ;)
Would have preferred him to keep the £12mil and for us to keep Palacios* :)

Hence the unnamed dead body’s comment ! I think there is a difference between exchanging banter and views with your Joe public types on here and reading about the thoughts and movements of celebrities and sports stars, who to be honest wouldn’t give you the time of day if you tried to interact with them !

Hear, hear! Although I did ask Jeff Green (comedian from Chester) to like my Facebook page and go all miffed when he ignored me :) I’ll try Piers Morgan next :)
To be fair some people do take it way too far and ‘Tweet’ celebs for a response (Which they will never get) .. Quite sad in all fairness. I genuinely just read it whilst bored and will also use it to tweet about our games and basically to whinge about the ref or something else during the game.

I did think that they may find it disrespectful. Also there is no ‘If he was or wasn’t taking the piss’ .. He just was, it’s obvious. People just dont want to believe he was joking as they think he’s a BellEnd (Which to be fair, he is)

I would start a similar team but drop Gomez to the free role in which he played the 2nd half vs Reading.
Also if Caldwell and Ramis are fit (I actually have no idea if they are/are’nt) I WOULD have them back in the team as we seemed to lose quite a few ariel battles on Saturday, so we need them ESPECIALLY if Dzeko gets a game.
I would keep Jones in just because he had a decent game, nothing special but was solid. No idea what I would do or who to start between Di Santo ad Maloney (If fit) but probably Di Santo if Gomez drops to the role behind the strikers.

The reaction of a fair few of our lot, and the reaction of the Chelsea fans yesterday confirms once and for all that a great deal of so called football ‘supporters’ are absolute gobshites.

At half time on Saturday, they brought Andy Lyons out on the pitch. He got a big clap off people, but the cynic on me was thinking “the majority of the people in this ground won’t even have seen him play”. You might think/say “does it matter?” But to me, and yes, I know it’s bitter old me again, I feel a bit p’d off by all the faux supporters.

Probably just me being bitter, but there you go.

Regarding Rafa Benitez, my opinion is that he is a very good manager and but for Hicks and Gillette at Liverpool, he would probably still be there. I’m not saying they’d have won the league, but they would’ve certainly gone closer than they have in the past couple of seasons, in my opinion. He’s one of the top managers in Europe, of that I have no doubt. Why Liverpool didn’t appoint him in the summer, I have no idea. He was the man that most reds fans wanted, and I think he would’ve been best man for their job. More fool Chelsea ‘fans’ for not seeing the wood for the trees. Pictures of grown men holding up ‘anti Benitez’ banners in todays paper is cringeworthy to say the least. Plastic club, plastic fans. They’ve a top manager and they don’t even know it.

Like I say, a lot of football supporters……..gobshites.

I’d agree with the start and end of that…some football supporters are gobshites. But they always have been. It’s nothing new. Back when I started going hooliganism was on the rise. Now that was a time for gobshites.

The Rafa bit was the start fa reasonable debate, but you’d lost me when you felt the need to prove your superfan status with the Andy Lyons reference. My lad is fourteen and has had a season ticket for nearly ten years. He hasn’t a clue who Andy Lyons is. Does that make him a faux supporter? Or is he just a polite young lad who knows how to behave appropriately?

Gobshites? Yeah, there’s a few of ’em around!
Not trying to prove my ‘superfan’ status. I’m not, and don’t have any need to anyway. No need to prove myself to anybody. I’m actually glad I’m not someone who has nothing in my life other than football and going home and away every week. I’m glad I have other interests as I believe my life would be very sad. Thats MY opinion and MY choice. c’est La vie.

Wasn’t having a pop at your kid, or anyone elses. But it’s amazing how many who are old enough claim they “used to go to Springfield Park”, when clearly, they did not.
I’m 23. I used to go to Springfield park with my Dad. Pretty sure there’s a few of us that don’t need/feel the need to lie about it. Saying that why would people lie about it?

Apparently on to join us in January.

                              Taken from Sky Sports.

Sporting Kansas City have revealed that midfielder Roger Espinoza is in the process of piecing together a move to Wigan Athletic.

Espinoza caught the eye of European scouts over the summer after impressing for Honduras at the 2012 Olympics.

Wigan were credited with holding an interest at that time, but were unable to put a deal in place.

They have, however, refused to accept defeat in their pursuit of Espinoza and the 26-year-old should complete a switch to England once the January transfer window opens for business.

“He called and told me that he’s basically decided that he’s going to Wigan,” Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes told the Kansas City Star.

“It was a tough decision for him, but it’s something that he wanted to do. He wanted a chance to play in the English Premier League, but he also wanted to thank me and the club for everything.”

Vermes added: “I told him I really appreciated his commitment to the club.

“He’s been a great guy on and off the field for us for several years. His growth as a player has been tremendous. I told him we’re happy for him, but that the doors are open if things change in the future.”

                              .

Seen quite a bit about this today Spaulding.

Not seen much of the player though, hopefully be good signing!

the boro in burnley (match related) springs to mind. closer to home, i’d say the owd whitesmiths was a rough place once (spanish place now) or beech tree (beech hill/martland estate) not sure whether it’s still open….? i’t was a reet dive last time i went in about 7 year ago.

Beech Tree is definitely up there! I agree with you on that one!
