I’m just glad that Caldwell wasn’t seriously injured when some soft tvvat skimmed a season ticket over his head during the Derby game.

What a journey!Agree CHEAP option yet again :( and the worst of it is he has no experience  but why? we still have the £10 million parachute payment next season, so whilst we have this buffer surely we should be going for a manager with a bit of experience.
I know a lot of people who were 50-50 whether or not to renew their season ticket next season I think this appointment will just about sway it. The club hasn’t just lost the support of long time fans but the young fans too Who they were so enthusiastic in recruiting has now been a waste of time. My grandson who is 7 and his friends now don’t want to go anymore :(
Is the pre match Junior Latics club still going?
I was pi$$ed off yesterday this announcement has put the Tin Hat on it.…and the reason why is that they have to listen to the likes of you moaning at anything and everything to do with the latics. A bit of positivity now and again won’t go amiss, even when you do feel like blowing the DW up. B) :cheer:

What a journey!Ive no problems at all with the appointment of Gary Caldwell, he has all the attributes to be a successful manager. The problem I have is with his assistants, just like Martinez did, he needs an old shrewd head sat at the side of him. Someone who has coached at the top and can jump in when called upon to provide plan B’s and C’s.
I would actually like to see a Warnock or a Wilkins, I have great respect for Graham Barrow, but for me its time for him to call it a day. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!20 mins too late, do you not read the listed topics?

What a journey! When new managers/head coaches arrive, they often bring their own assistant with them – someone they have worked with for years and trust. At Wigan, how many managers have come and gone whilst the assistant and coaches remain in situ? More importantly how many more will come and go before they get the chop?
What do you think is Brian Kerslake’s role at the club then?
I am also of the belief that all the “old” brigade should have gone, from the various coaching staff, fitness mon, medical team, brew lady etc.

What a journey!First time sat in west stand today and have to say was only bit of passion i witnessed all day. Fair play to the bloke. It’s dead easy to support a football team when you are winning or at least holding your own. It’s a lot harder supporting your team when it is struggling. That “baby” will wake up tomorrow and think WTF did I do??.
I hope the club clock his client code and offer it to someone who will stick behind the club through thick and thin. I am not enjoying my football at the moment, but will be 100% behind them when we travel to Fulham and Millwall.
I will also have my season ticket tucked nicely in my wallet for the Brighton and Wolves games whilst that idiot will be sat at home watching SSN.Passion?? that’s not fuckin passion!!

What a journey!Forgot to mention, as I was leaving the stand I managed to get a quick look at David Sharpe’s mobile just as a message came in. It simply said “Sack the fekker” and looked like it was from someone called Grandad.

What a journey! They are impossible to work with at the best of times!Excellent choice of music at the SOL yesterday after our 5th successive win against the 8th biggest club in the world.
Bee Gees – “We Win Again”
Manfred Mann – “5-4-3-2-1”
So where was city in the world rankings when we beat them at Wembley to win a major trophy. ;) :P

What a journey!I must agree with that, but if, just if we can beat Derby and Rotherham lose or draw to Brighton, we are just one win away from catching um. Millwall however, have now put a bastad spanner in the works.

What a journey!Fekin hell!!!! Derby have just stretched their games without a win to 8. As per usual, we will probably kick start another team back to winning form. :(

What a journey! And Malky does it again but this time just Clarke on his own. Chance to put Waghorn on but puts Fortune on, end result no goals again.
The guy is a disgrace, no Waghorn, no actual sign of Sinclair so what’s the point.
Taking the piss out of the few hundred who travelled and spent a lot of money. Amazed some still go away.
Waghorn got 30 mins today and was totally shyte. I thought we actually improved when Fortune came on. If you don’t make scoring opportunities how the fek can you put them away?. To have a pop at MAF after that dour display by 9 or 10 players just shows that you have a massive chip on your shoulder.
So was there no team spirit or fight then? Did they look like dead men walking? Is my £450 safe? All these questions!
You appear to be answering your own questions these days Fil
There was plenty of fight but yet again when it was too late. I suppose you have to hold your hands up and say we were beaten by the better team. Mind you having said that, it took yet another deflected goal to win the game.
That attempt by McLean at the death must go down as the Sunday league moment of the season..WTF!! :woohoo:From Matlock to ManU

What a journey!Apparently can’t lob the keeper any more like he used to do, struggling to get it up I believe these days.

What a journey!I remember people on here who were almost wishing that the tics would get relegated to the Championship.
The dross served up in this division the past two years has been there for everyone to see.
There hasn’t really been one team that I’ve seen and thought, top quality them. Even this year, Boro, Derby, Norwich, Bournmouth and even Watford the other night, nowt special. If we could have retained some our prem stars, we would have pissed this league.
I understand what people are saying about the greedy, arrogant, millionaires who frequent and run the EPL but IMHO, the standard of football is 5 leagues above what we are experiencing now.
Not just that, the refs, the pitches everything about the Championship is totally crud. I’ve watched Wigan since non-league and I’d watch threm if they returned to it, but from a football and all round quality perspective, I would love us get back in the prem again.
I’ve not seen enough of other European countries football or management of the leagues to make any justified comments / comparisons, but I suspect from the bits I’ve seen, even the German Leagues are no better than ours.A bit off the topic matter but just my opinion.
