If Steven Gerrard is such a greedy get, why did he choose to stay at Liverpool instead of going to Chelsea for the big bucks?

Because he stayed at Liverpool for big bucks.

Are after a new Manager after Neil Adams resigns.

Strange one when they’re in 7th.

You know you’ve hit rock bottom when nob end beat you.

Can I ask a simple question, from a simple man. If you booed Heskey today can you tell me why??? He was a player who always gave of his best whilst with us. Probably the people who booed him never saw him play for us. J.C.L.’s

Another example of saying how much he loved the club then fekked off a few weeks later.

I think it was at the Christmas light switch on in the town centre, when he gave this heart warming speech about not wanting to leave the club and he wouldn’t be leaving in the transfer window, even with all the interest from other clubs. A couple of weeks later wooooosh! off to villa he went.

His form at Wigan had led him to regaining his England place back and he threw it all away by joining Villa and not getting enough game time.

That, along with the fact that he now plays for our local rivals, is probably why he got that reception from our fans. Didn’t boo him myself, but fully understand why a lot of our fans did. Glad to see him looking so much out of his depth, even Kearnan had him in his back pocket.

I can’t see the zimmer frame brothers [him and Gudjohnsson], doing a great deal to help noblot’s cause somehow. :woohoo:
Dear oh dear.

Does your bitterness know no bounds?
There you go again, I can’t post anything without you or your sidekick having a personal attack. Disagree with me by all means, but there is no need to go into this bitterness shyte. You need to grow up and learn how to have a personal view about things, without having a swipe at people.

I have a swipe at Martinez, the cheeky girls have a swipe at me. I have a swipe at Heskey, the cheeky girls have a swipe at me. Can you see where I’m coming from.

For a big chap you come over all baby like at times.

And it appears his letter of resignation as chairman has been put in the War Chest.

6 weeks is fine – will be back in time to welcome Cardiff City and their lovely owner ;)

I’m sure he said that he would resign if they found him guilty of being a racist. The wording of the FA Charge is that he is not a racist, but is guilty of saying things of an offensive nature. Racist will not be on DW’s CV.

Spent New Years Eve in Knott End and three of us went for a walk down the Wyre this morning. Bumped into a chap walking his dogs and he asked was we “pie munchers”, probably because of our accents. He turned out to be a Blackpool fan and said that how the FA has treated Whelan was an absolute disgrace. He said that every person he had spoke to had said the same thing.

It’s nice to know that not every fekker is wanting to hang big Dave out to dry.
He went on to say that he worked with some Indians and as he called them, “some Pakis” as well. They did not feel that calling them Pakis was an insult to their religion. He said those two ethnic minorities are racist towards each other all the time, but its laughed off as friendly banter.

If I was Whelan I would have certainly appealed that charge, based on what Balotelli got, but I suppose the wording of the charge, has left him in a better frame of mind and in a position whereby he could accept it.
The big question here has to be ‘What the fuck where you doing in Knott End?’ My Dad used to live there and there is fuck all there! Only time I go there now is to tidy his grave up now and again!
Your right Fil not a lot there apart from a nice friendly Working Mens Club selling Tettley Smooth at £2.20 a pint and Carling lager at £2.40 a pint.

Stopped at the Shard Riverside in Hambleton and mini bused in to knott End. Lad and his partner were playing there along with a comedian. Great night was had and some bird got rat legged and started to strip with hubby / boyfriend desperately trying to cover up body parts as each item was pulled off and discarded.

This debate is gonna run and run. On the Champions league front it is incredibly difficult for anyone outside the real big hitters to compete for a place. City, Chelsea and Utd are nailed on normally along with Arsenal who have qualified every season for yonks. So even now with a place available to the Europa winners it leaves just one spot two at most up for grabs. Everton at present are not in the same league financially and like most teams in the Prem are being left behind. I think it is slightly unfair to mock Bobby when he doesn’t make it and there are another 15 Premier League managers every season who will be the same.

Unfortunately jr these days success is not about how good your managers and players are but how rich your owners are. At the highest level anyway. ;)

Fair comment NL and in the main you are right, but Southampton are in there fighting having lost most of the best players from last season. Everton have retained all theirs, so why are they on the slide? Southampton’s predicament is nowt to do with money, its down to their manager, tactics and players wanting to bust a gut for the club. They’ve beat Arsenal today doing hand stands, whilst Everton have lost to a poor Hull side.
Whether the Saints will sustain their challenge, its yet to be seen, but they are in the mix at the half way stage, 15 points and 9 places above the Toffees, 7 points and 4 places above Liverpool, who spent a fortune close season.
Ronald Koeman has worked wonders with a squad he had to muster together in a very short period of time having had the heart ripped out of the team from last season.

If you want to compare similar teams on similar budgets, taking United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal out the equation, there you have it.

I think you are, quite simply, the most childish man I have ever come across.

I haven’t commented about Martinez for months. Why would I? It’s much more fun laughing at, and commenting on, you (supposedly grown) men getting all upset about a bloke who doesn’t even work for the club anymore.

Fishing, you? You’re not remotely clever enough to be doing this to wind people up. Your pathetic, infantile hate-filled bile spits through every post on this thread. It’s so obvious to see. And it’s YOU who keeps getting wound up on this thread but you just can’t see it at all.

That’s why you’re silly. Very silly. Keep it up though, it’s a great spectator sport.

What was the edit for Mr Numpty? You was obviously that wound up, your fingers couldn’t make sense of what your noggin was thinking. As for me being wound up, let’s not forget that I and many others have the bagging rights on this post at the mo, I am far from wound up and couldn’t give a gnats nudger what you think about me,

You stick to trying to belittle the kids on here and let us grown ups stick to the topic subject. Look back on previous threads, I only stick the boot in to people who chose to go personal. Let’s just say I defend my corner when I need to and do it rather well. If you don’t like it that’s your problem. Why don’t you stop the personal insults when you disagree with what other posters think, disagree by all means, but don’t be such a baby resorting to name calling. If you don’t call me, I won’t call you, honestly, but I’ll still put the boot into Martinez. …………………champions league.
Bragging rights?? BRAGGING RIGHTS??? I stopped reading your post at that point…

How many more times?? Nobody cares about Martinez and Everton’s past, current or future league position apart from you and the other saddos who clearly have more interest in another club than the one you supposedly support. Everybody else (who matters) is just laughing at how sad and pathetic you are.
Another edit by you sunbeam, calm down a bit you must be all a dither, your sausage like fingers cant keep up with your thick noggin.
Couldn’t resist with the name calling once again, could you? “Saddos” it is now, Saddos FFS grow up!, that was the type of thing the girls used to say in the school playground back in the 70’s.

What you mean is, you and your little clan of buddies are laughing, the majority on here know you as the biggest vvanker to have ever posted on the CL forum.
I’ve lost count of the number of posters I know who have said your are the main reason they have abandoned this forum. That’s a realm shame, cos I know you are just on the wind up, but you just don’t know when to stop.
You amuse yourself and a few boozing buddies, with the quirky put downs, but if someone disagrees with you, out comes this vindictive, aggressive, name calling tosspot.

if you are going to respond, I suggest you type your response on a word document, get your three buddies to proof read it, then copy and paste it to your post field. Doing it that way, you may avoid the need for another edit.
Just take a deep breath, think about it, take your time and I’m sure you’ll get it right first time. Even if you make a mistake, perhaps you should seriously think of letting it go as it is, nobody gives a flying fek anyway, oh sorry, apart from your 3 buddies.

PS For Egg and the others, bragging rights mean that those who said Martinez would have Everton in the Bottom half of the prem are currently correct. It’s just a figure of speech guys, nothing to put into capitals or get worked up about.

What bragging rights are they?

As for his Champions League comments (which he could do by winning the Europa League) what did you expect him to say? “I’m coming here to finish mid-table like we do most seasons and every now and again challenge for 7th”
He can say whatever he wants, but he must be prepared to take the flak if he doesn’t produce the goods. He needs to learn how to react to results and performance of the team when it is poor. The Everton fans seem to be getting tired of hearing the same positivity after each game he might be saying that the team are doing fine but the fans don’t want to hear that. There’s a need sometimes to blast a performance, just been on Sky sports news as I’m typing that Everton have conceded the most goals from player errors in the premier league. Now I’d be blasting those players perhaps not naming names on TV, but making generalisations, or I’d seriously think about changing my tactics , knowing the players I have can’t play the ball out from the back or tippy tippy about in their own third of the pitch. In a nut shell that’s Martinez’s big problem IMO and the reason he will never get champions league football at Everton, or break into the top four, or win the Europa League.
Thanks for the discussion Egg, no name calling, no saying I’m sounding silly, we have different views but don’t feel the need to go personal.

Pretty sad.

More posts about Everton’s mediocre performances than about our team winning.

And once again you have contributed to this thread, cant keep yer nose out.

Perhaps its because Wigan have not played today and Everton have. That’s surely simple enough for you to understand.

PS. Just listening to Graham Souness and Gary Neville talking about Everton and they are bang on with their summing up.

“Trying to play from the back when they haven’t got the quality of players to do it”.

“Passing the ball around in the wrong areas of the field”.

“Conceding goals when all it needed to avoid it was a hoof up the field”.

Souness even said that Martinez would be alright playing those tactics if he was managing the likes of Barcelona, but not Everton and as we already know not Wigan.

16 points less than they had at this stage last season, perhaps BK will buy him a new iPad and give him another 3 years on his contract.

My money is on him to get tick tacked before the end of January.
