There are grown men on here who have kissed bobbies arse to the highest extent, like girls in love with Justin Beiber. Bet there has been real tears from some of them, that ‘lush bobby’ has gone. Comedy gold.
Each and every excuse has been better than the last for his inept defence. Maybe some of the fans will go watch Everton now and follow their messiah.
He won’t be taking Boselli, di santo, Gomez, stam etc. I can only hope he takes Caldwell, he is daft enough to do it.
@Mighty – not at all mate, and I really don’t what qualifies you to talk about with any authority about grown men.
@Loudmouthblue – nobody is ‘blaming’ anybody. It’s just a crying shame that a lot of the things OFF the field that Martinez started and influenced here might not now be seen through.@MrBrownbill – what’s your point? Did you ever think that given the budget that the club has, relegation at some point was not inevitable? If so, you are at odds with almost everybody in the world of football.
As for tears and tantrums, anyone losing any kind of sleep over a manager leaving a football club wants their head testing. That would be almost as sad as you lot pulling yourselves round the living room because the Spanish Clown has gone.
There are also grown men on here that have spit their dummies out every time Wigan have lost over the past four seasons and then gone into hibernation when they win.[no more so than the 3 pilluks who have posted above]
It must have been sooooo painful for you having to travel all the way to Wembley and back to support the very manager, players and chairman you have slagged off to a level of venomous hatred at times.
Even more so when you had to sing “Roberto Martinez” and “Whelan, Whelan”
I will follow my team through thick and thin, I have done for over 40 years. I have not liked certain things that all the Latics managers have done, however, I have truly supported them all and have never felt so low that I’ve had to go on a football website and slag any of them off week in week out.
I don’t need an excuse to support or stick up for any Wigan Athletic manager, especially to some 2 bit cyber warriors like you three.
Wollow in your “glory” if that’s what you want to do, while the rest of us dust ourselves off and eagerly wait for the next chapter to open for the biggest little football club in the world.
To those so called “fans” who wanted our team to be relegated, well done you’ve got what you wanted.
Lets see how great it feels seeing the manager go, our best players go and last but not least our band waggoners go.Hey but don’t feel too down hearted, it will be like the good old days going to places like Barnsley, Huddersfield and Yeovil etc, well it will be for those who can be bothered turning up.
Well done Mighty Aff for the most childish post in the history of CL. The only bit you missed from your post was “ner, ner, ner, nerrrr, ner”
Please try and grow up for the start of next season and you might start enjoying football again like you did pre Martinez days. B) :P

What a journey!Come on boys and girls Bobby did is best to pull a good team together under financial constraints that no other premier league team had. OK he got us relegated but leaves us with a legacy that includes;
1) We have won a major trophy.
2) We have shown on many occasions that we can beat all the top four teams.
3) The good people of Wigan will support their football team if they play the right way, even though they are in a relegation fight.
Thanks for the memories bobby, if you do go to Everton though I hope you get relegated! B)

What a journey! How sickening for the guy that he will go to his parent club, get 5 substitute appearances in the league and play a few cup matches. In the meantime a lot of his team mates today will play 38 EPL games. Mr Zaha however will have a bulging wallet, just like our Victor has.

What a journey!Had to laugh at the geezer walking up and down Standishgate on Monday, with an handful of silver balloons. They were European Cup balloons that he had probably stashed away since united won it.

What a journey!I wasn’t going to reply to this thread, but it did strike me as strange that someone’s first posts on the site should be to warn off a moderator about legalities (incorrectly) and then call a long-standing member of the board a “moron”.I will however reply, but hope this is the end of the discussion.
The DPA exists to prevent unwanted marketing and personal intrusion. In this case a poster was accused of not being who he claimed to be. I showed that he certainly was not posting from the Midlands as was claimed.
The Information Commissioner has ruled that IP addresses do not constitute personal information within the scope of the act, and therefore general information sourced from them ie approximate location (we are not talking address here, we are talking “Merseyside”) is within the law. How else do you get adverts that state “Hot dates in St Helens” – or is that just me?
As for going further. The OP (who has quite happily accepted I think that I am trying to help him – whether succesfully or not) provided even a moniker that can be Googled along with the word Everton to see if he appears on other sites related to Everton. He does.
There is no way I can confirm that the IP address and the stated identity match. All I can do is tell people that on balance I believe he is genuine – as equally I would warn people off if a really good Latics-related offer (maybe tickets, maybe merchandise) appeared which I could identify as coming from China or Russia.
We certainly cannot be bothered be doing this for all posters. Why would we? But in this case he was being accused of being a Villa fan. He isn’t.
Everything I posted is completely within the scope of the DPA. I won’t say why (because of DPA, you know), but I do know what I’m talking about.

What a journey!Right – I’ve just Googled his real name (which I can see) and come across posts he’s made on other boards about Everton as an Everton supporter – and he has signed off as “Professional Man”.
It’s this breach of the data protection act and, inappropiately, checking peoples’ IP addresses, that cheapen positions on media boards. It’s only a matter of time before someone challenges the legality of this practice.
Oh shut up!
It’s the site that will be ‘shut up’ if people decide to take action – moron
Grow up and take this site for what it is a load of lads and lasses having the crack. The world has gone mad with all this PC stuff and its through cyber police like you that it has gone off the scale.
PS; I have never stopped crying since you called me a moron. I will not be able to go to work tomorrow with the state I’m in. I’ve made an appointment with my solicitor over my dreadful ordeal. George can you find the IP address for this slanderous villain please, my solicitor will be getting in touch.

What a journey! When Martinez first arrived we had trouble scoring & a crap defence, slowly he as rectified the goal scoring dept, but failed miserably with the defence hence our relegation, like previous posters have said before, the cup win was fantastic but the league form for quite a while especially at home as been shocking, time for a change for him & us.Should the defensive coach not take some responsibility for the many gaffs made by our defenders over the past 4-5 seasons?
no disrespect to Dennis Lawrence, but from what I remember, he has never played at the top level , so is it time to bring in someone with PL and International experience?.

What a journey!I don’t think that the person responsible for this incident intended upsetting anyone. They will know damn well that it would hit the media. it will not have been the first dressing room prank or the last.
I remember a few years ago seeing a video of Jimmy Bullard being pushed around the changing room in a washing trolley with a pair of underpants on his head. Funny as owt to all who knew him.
However, what picture did that paint of our club and do you think Whelan and the board laughed it off at the time ? Not too sure about that one, but if it had been some young kids who work for McDonalds doing that, the main gaffer would have shown um the door immediately. :woohoo:
