What I can’t understand is looking at the tens of thousands of people milling around Robin Park, many pushing young babies around in buggies, car parks full of vehicles, roads bumper to bumper with traffic etc. etc why should a match that will attract less people to the area than fekin Argos will, be called off!!
I am a health and safety officer and it really does my head in when people take the easy option and blame H & S for anything they can.
Mr Hayton just go outside and see all this activity going on around the ground and then tell the retail park that shopping is cancelled due to H & S!!

Not sure I would want him in our defence on a regular basis at his age, but in a defensive coach role, I would have him in tomorrow.
It’s just what Bobby needs at this moment, Barrow and Jones are extremely lacking in both PL knowledge and experience.

29 too old for a striker? You utter plant pot!! Any footballer will tell you that 28-30 are their prime years. I’m not arguing for argument sake I’ve simply stated the facts and not pished my pants over Owens flippin hat trick.
As for Valencia I was on holiday in Bulgaria and met 2 united season ticket holders. They knew fek aw about valencia and moaned like fek about ferggie signing an unknown. I tried to convince them he was a guddon.

Your an idiot. I didn’t once say it was TOO old but when he relies on pace a lot it is quite old. They knew ‘fek aw’ bout Valencia because he isn’t even really good. I was not bothered in the slightest when he left and he isn’t ‘top 4’ quality. Oh and you do argue for arguments sake and your arguments are awful and wrong.
You don’t think he’s good enough but the most successful manager in the history of football does.??? I would suggest on that basis alone, it is your arguments that are awful and wrong sunshine.

This post typifies how some people react to a situation on here. An over reaction as usual!!
Take last nights hat trick against a pish poor team out the equation for a second, lets look at what Michael Owen has achieved this season:-

1) Struggled to make the first team or even the bench at times at Man U, despite only being 29 years of age and having played in the prem or the top leagues in europe for over 10 years.

2) Struggled to make the first 11 at Man U on a regular basis despite costing them nigh on £100 grand a week in wages.

3) Struggled to make the first 11 at Man U on a regular basis despite united going through a transition of losing quality players either through transfers, injuries or simply being past their sell by date.

4) Struggled to make the first 11 at Man U on a regular basis despite a young unknown Equadorian player from Wigan making more appearances for them than any other player in the squad.

5) When given the chance to play he looks like a third division player at best sqaundering chance after chance in the first 10 matches he played and looking 10 yards slower than he was 5 years ago.

Suddenly he gets a hat trick against a team that wouldn’t hold its own in the scottish second division and its dave whelan said this, dave whelan said that.

Dave whelan was bang on, Owen was and is not worth the money he still attracts. He’s more interested in his horses than pulling a gut out for his team.

So biased, He isnt an unknow equadorian he was kinda already in the prem. ONLY 29??? Quite old for a striker who relies on pace a lot. Need to post something that isn’t trying to argue for arguments sake you :D
I have just read the threads so thought I would put my pennies worth in.

I have noticed on here that a lot seem to think we are making progress under Martinez. Do you know that the least amount of times we have had a throw in and passed in back only to miss the player and knock it straight into touch is 5? (for uneducated people that menas it is usually more than this) very boring fact but my under 10’s do not make that many errors from throw ins.

Why do people think we are playing football when we make 10 passes and do not progress up the field and thenb we pass our way into trouble.

Why do people think we have made progress when the same defence as last season are conceeding goals like we are.

The players look so bored and fed up its frightening. We have 2 players in Diame and Thomas who are trying to play the same game and are not good enough playing together. I do think both are decent players but not together.

We do not have a decent goalkeeper, Mike Pollit is just poor and Kirkland should be on the sick.

Jason Scotland is pathetic, people are commenting saying he is a worker, NO he is not, he is a lazy lazy player who is short on confidence because he is out of his depth.

Why can Martinez not see when Rogellaga plays upfront we look like scoring. Yes he missed good chances at weekend but at least he had chances. What is wrong with 4-4-2 against Bormingham at home???

Gomez is not as bad as people say but he is not the quality of the premiership and is a squad player at most and I would only use him to slow a game down as he as no fight in him.

Martinez is a legend in Wigan and I would hate to see him sacked but if he cannot see what is wrong with this team who have received more hammerings this season than we have in the last 15 seasons then he needs to move into a different role.

To be honest I hope Dave keeps his money in the bank in January as giving any to Martinez would be a disaster for Wigan Athletic.

My overall verdict is move Martinez out of the Manager role and quickly.

Fact No. 1 Last year we had 16 points from 15 games this year we have 17, is that not progress?

So Scotland is in the same league as Heskey????? hahahahaha

Scotland is not good enough and it does not make you a super fan for supporting him. He is poor and that is the bootom line.

Who said Scotland was in the same league as heskey? Not me!!

My point is that some fans don’t see the whole picture when judging a player. My mate once had a trial at Latics back in the 80’s. He came on as sub in the game with 20 mins left and scored 4 goals. He later got told that he would never make it due to his technical ability and other stuff that me and my mates at the time couldn’t believe.
You see thats why we are season ticket holders and martinez and co are millionaires. However, I actually do see the good points in Scotland that convince me he’s worth a longer run.

Sorry to be positive on this board…but I thought Scotland was great in the first half. Held the ball up well and showed some good touches. He almost scored in the 2nd half with a great shot from outside the area but that soon gets forgotten.

Gomez looked good when he came on. Not afraid to take people on and scored a great free kick. Worth a start against Stoke with Scharner moving to defence.

For all you whingers … get lost. What do you expect. We are fighting miles above our weight in this league and I still think we will survive. If that’s not enough for you then either get a reality check or take your Johnny come lately support off to another club.

Martinez has my full support.

Bang on that mate!! I’d forget trying to talk sense to some of these on here. The same ones probably moaned about Heskey not scoring when he played for us, then realised when he’d gone that hes probably one of the best hold up players in world football, not just the prem.
