Cheers Faz….I went ahead and did it myself in the end. I bought a heat gun off Ebay for a tenner, some heat sink paste for 2 snots and some alcohol to clean the old heat sink paste off for 2 dabs. I followed the You Tube instructions by a lad called Gilksy and it worked! :DThe only problem is once the system has Yloded (which I believe is the equivalent of the red ring of death on the Xbox) it will eventually overheat and melt the soldered joints around the processors again.
So I took it straight to Game and traded it in for a new Slim one, and took out the three year warrantee to cover any other problems Sony have brushed under the carpet. :roll:
