Chambers is one of his favourites (plus he’s a Scouser) and would be one of his first picks, if fit.
Sess has not played for weeks, so if he is fit I would imagine he would only get on as a late substitution.Thought McHugh had a good game and showed intent, as did Carragher.

On one hand I can feel some sympathy for Shaun.
On the other hand he didn’t help his own cause, by adopting a defensive, possessive game plan for the majority of games. Even if the squad was not his first choice, he could have still explored with different tactics & styles to get the best out of the players. He didn’t even experiment in friendlies or Mickey Mouse cup games
We’ll never know the truth.Trouble is Ryan Lowe has a reputation for a similar type of football as SM. On my way home from games I generally listen to Radio Lancashire and have a chuckle at the Nob End fans complaining about the boring style of football that he instilled into the team whilst he was in charge.

At the half way point of the season I thought “well there’s 23 fixtures left for SM to sell his brand of football to me, and 4 or 5 months for the Invisible Man (Danson) to prize my hard earned cash out of my pocket and sign up for another season. With 17 to go it’s not looking good. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s fait accompli before the last quarter of the season.
It will be a tough decision; but one that is made for me and not by me
As I’ve said previously; he’ll get the loose change; just enough to buy a round of Bovrils for the squad after training session.
