I’d have run off if I’d had to put up with that half hearted set of jokers. The fact that he didn’t want to come off suggests he’s either mad or committed or paid for every minute he’s on the park.
Fair points. Life is far from over if the club go down. It’s just a shame that we have to plumb the depths before it happens – and solutions don’t seem to be so far away. Wolves ressies only lost 3-O at Utd and their first team won at Spurs- as did Stoke. Our best 11 is as good as the bottom 9 if they can be revved up. Bet RM wonders what he’s done though.
His ability as a player is neither here nor there. Sorry I brought that up. Don’t suppose Fergie or Wenger broke many pots either. However the players he has available have given up on him. No cred. Sad.
Common sense and the ability to motivate a group of disaffected journey men is what he needs. Sadly he has neither- and heaven knows I wanted him to have.
I have never agreed with him before- but he has a point.
The only way we won’t go down is if 3 other clubs go bust. P’mouth, West Ham and Hull might oblige. Thus condemning us to another year of torture.
Never seen such a spiritless bunch. Relegation and/or sacking of manager written all over them
RM knows nothing about defending. In all honesty he doesn’t know much about attacking either because most of our goals are either long punts or set pieces or scrambles. The beuatiful football is a myth.
And can I be really outragoues and say that he wasn’t a very effective player either. Sorry lads !
It’s clear. He can’t do it. At least not with these players. You need to play to your limitations – and the team have plenty of them. A sensible bloke would have played 4 4 2 and got the team to work their socks off. Change the system after a year after spending time recruiting people who can do what you want. The last year has been unpleasant what with Bruce deciding he was off, the team being sold off and now RM being exposed as totally our of his depth.
No more humiliation Dave. It doesn’t have to be like this.
Never thought I’d say it but the return of PJ would bring a smile to my face.
Now you’re talking lads- as he wipes a nostalgic tear from his eye.
Second half was creaky and a better team would have been clear well before the penalty. The way we defend is very disturbing.
Agree completely. A pub side. The way they hacked Gomez was a disgrace. But then their manager head butts his best players- that’s the role model !
Worrying record against bottom half – 19th ??
Encouraging against top half – odd.
8th best clean sheets record and worst number of goals conceded ?
It’s one strange season.
We’ll probably win the FA Cup.1 December 2009 at 12:41 am in reply to: Your Favorite Latics Player of ALL TIME!…(one only please) #14294Can’t do just one. It’s an era thing….
Harry Lyon – before 1970
Billy Sutherland – in the 70’s
Tony Kelly -in the 80’s
Bobby Campbell – in the 90’s
Arjan de Zeeuw – after 2000
and in the next decade ??? It’d be great if were to be Jordi Gomez
£5m on agents is a shocker. Is this the only way we can get half decent players to Wigan ? Must admit when you think that Charles Z joined us so quickly you had to wonder who was getting what. I hope this doesn’t mean we have been paying agents to seel our players as well. Could that explain the big payouts for Valencia and Palacios. I get more cynical about this league everyday.
That header against Peterborough in the 2nd round of the cup will never leave me. When you are 11 heroes are real heroes even if they cost pennies and were never in the national papers.
Anyone who asks me who my favourite Wigan players were is amazed when I say Geoff Davies,Billy Sutherland and Harry Lyon. 100% every time, enjoyed it and appreciated the people watching them- but then I was young and naive then.
