Anyone who was at the 3rd round match at Maine Road in 71 should be given first choice ! Can’t be many of us around.

    Wow. Wiganers discussing Palestine. Quality.

Without any doubt at all it has to be Stoke City.
Fans and Pulis . Not another point for them. Sink without dignity.

Not a good performance but still a decent chance of a 9th year in Top division and an appearance in FA Cup Final. I’d have settled for that in the70’s when united, everton, Liverpool and rugby fans tried to make my life miserable. Sin Miedo my friends !

Enjoyed reading this. I was brought upon Garswood but went to Uni in 77 and haven’t livedin NW since then. Lived in various parts of England and have always been proud to tell people I support the Latics. My daughter is 21 and has caught the bug too. Tried watching Leicester and Forest but would rather watch East Enders. Enjoyed League Cuo thrashing of Forest but one of best days was Graham Kavanagh inspired win at the Walkers.
Good to hear Latics fans are opposing up all over. At away games I’ve sat next to converts from Bath, Wolverhampton and Dublin. Who’dhave thought it ?

I got freebies for the Spurs game when we lost 9-1. Torture.

The memories flooded back. Wonder what John King’s up to these days. He could takr GB’s place for the duration of the ban

My dad used to stand with Tom and young Tom at Springfield. So many happy memories of those NPL days. Deepest sympathy from Harry from Garswood’ s family.

Have been very critical of RM but not anymore. The team has played well in lots of games this season and with a few breaks would be 9 points better off. The injuries haven’t helped either. RM is far from a clown. he’s bright and thoughtful and has got a Wigan team passing the ball like I’ d never believed possible. My concern is that we don’t have a match winner this year and we might pay the price. just watched N’zogbia for Vila and am amazed that they waste him. Plonk him in our team and we’d be comfortable. You can’t balance the books and excel in the Prem. I do ask myself where the money goes to but then think that every Prem club is run to give rich capitalists another million or so.Dont imagine little Wigan’s any different.

Haven’t been on here for many a moon but can’t resist a Jeff Wright debate. He really was the Jordi of his day- there were just fewer people to shout abuse at him and the people who could see what he was doing. To me he was the nearest thing to an artist that we had. He could really see a pass but they didn’t always come off – hence him staying with lower league Wigan. He had a great game at Everton in the cup and I kept a report from one of the Sunday’s that said he was the classiest player on the pitch. what happened to him ? Last heard of back in Alston. Footnote : when he first signed from Netherfield he worked at Heinz- be surprised if Jordi will be doing anything extra.

How many strikers will he get through before the penny drops ? I’m beginning to think he’s a bit simple.

At Fulham I spoke to ten fans and each of them said they were fed up with RM and his tactics. There was general agreement that he’s out of his depth. None of them want to be negative ( they gave up a day and probably £50 each to watch) but the evidence is there for all to see. At which point of the ” recovery” did anyone watch and think ” It’s happening, Bob’s dream is coming to life ” ?

Did more than most to create the new club. I feel sad that he’s gone – and it’s true that spotting Arjan and Andy was a master stroke.

RM hasn’t a clue. He really hasn’t. I quite admire those who think he has but I have seen no evidence. We’ve beaten 10 man Wolves and Spurs in a betting scandal !

Having seen Fulham pass it around and through our lot today I daren’t imagine what Arsenal will do.
