My granddaughter was selected at random ,no cost to be the mascot when we played Doncaster….(Think because we payed into The Future fund)….Excellent day for myself, elder grandaughter and youngest. Still that cost is ridiculous . Way out of financial reach for many. I spend enough as it is. On the note of spending…..I have 1 Adult ticket and 1 under 18 available for Blackpool. Please let me know if anyone interested.

Small steps but the desire and fight last night was a huge improvement. Under Lowe that would have been another no show. Taylor looks like he always has a goal in him given the service Costelloe provided. Thought Saydee did well with some of the WWF type manhandling he endured. Murray looked a different animal too. All in all very happy with the night…more importantly 3pts on the board and on to Stockport now……a difficult game. On this note I have 2 tickets 1 Adult and 1 under 18 as due to family circumstances I cant make it. Anyone interested let me know……private message if you can explain how I do it.
Cant believe some delusional buffoons seem to believe we would have top championship managers queuing up to take over. Rowett,Still,Sheeran etc…no matter what pay on offer…..really???…Relegation threatened, no transfer windows to rectify our failings and a loanee swollen squad. Caldwell is a good fit for us in this Lowe created situation. Only young when he last managed us…..listen to what the major Exeter fans say about him. Threw himself into everything connected with their club and the community. His passion for Wigan Athletic is not in question……bringing Perkins as well is a bonus. 16 games and certainly no easy task…..a free hit . The damage had already been done ……but definitely not irreparable. Come on Wednesday.
Great interview on BBC with Gary Caldwell…..Certainly given me renewed optimism for our survival battle. Has a huge love for our club unlike his predecessor whose love was for himself. Solid, calculated statements about his strategy for success….no wild fantasy predictions. I for one will get behind him……Wednesday may not bring instant success but I’m hopeful he can lift the demoralised group to win more than we lose in the next 15……
For 55000 home support the noise was pitiful. More atmosphere in a vacuum flask.35000 core support then rest tourists and day trippers.Agree about London…..overpopulated turd den, about as welcoming as a mouth ulcer……I understand the huge gulf between us at present and Arsenal…..well anyone above 20th in league 1 to be fair, but if that was Whelans game plan then he needs moving on. Poor Taylor running round pointlessly chasing hoofs. No Smith(Unfathomable)….so no service at all for him. Saydee behind Taylor would have at least made the Arsenal backline work and given us an outlet. Moxon 6’2 and no steel, cant run forward and yet to see him tackle. Thank God he’s not available Saturday. Hunt ??…..If we’ve not equivalent or better in the academy then it’s worse than I thought. 5500 travelling at great expense even after all the s### we’ve had to endure since mid September and we were treated to what???? A pathetic 30 mins, set up by a zero ambition, panick stricken stand in coaching staff. Give it a go,set up to make them know they’re in a game…..yes we’ll more than likely still lose(You never know though do you Mr Watson,Grigg) but at least we would have gone down fighting, instead of Whelan,Barrow hoisting the white flag at 4:30…..

Speaking of no ambition !!!…Sat here in London…..spineless Cardiff esq team selection. F###### Moxon,Weir,Raphael,Hunt…..diabolical. Taylor completely isolated….not a Saydee fan but at least he’d have caused a bit of havoc and support Taylor. Smith on bench !!ffs….brings him on 4 down…This lot tame. Retire Barrow…..get shut of Whelan….complete clear out and that includes a lot the players. Yes we know we didn’t expect much but come on that 1st 30 was an embarrassment.

Agree with some of the posted points …..as ive stated my preference would be Leighton Baines with a Mowbray,Bruce,Mccarthy etc to help him till end of season. The article spot on as far as our club ownership realising a proper structure needs to be built around whoever we appoint…..which for me me means a coaching and advisory clear out. The owner needs to invest in this framework. Our recruitment is a shambles. On purchasing the club we were told that investment in the academy to produce some of our own which hopefully in turn would provide a future sales conveyor belt and potentially go some way to financing the club. Actually the opposite has happened…..continually loaned players who we develop for donor club leaving us with another recruitment chasm. The buck stops at the owner…..needs to back the next manager not just with one or two quality signings but invest in a director of football and recruitment(J Jackson comes to mind) staff….including our scouting network . Otherwise whoever we get will just be jumping or falling off our managerial merry-go-round this time in 12 months.
Ps…..pay peanut’s.!!!!..Benn Ward our nearly signed from Accy never put a foot wrong for Reading. Loan fc now becoming an embarrassment.
Need a miracle working jobby polisher after that shit show tonight. Good start…that was it…..How the f### was Saydee on in front of Taylor….Costelloe..huff n puff thats it…As usual no midfield…..cant defend …Even Tickle struggling…..at fault for 2nd……Squad is a mess…….cant see anything but league 2.
My pick would be Leighton Baines….he has to cut his managerial teeth somewhere and if we are this post administration, ground zero rebuild project the owner believes in then a young, ambitious, local been and done it ex player fits the bill. I agree our precarious league position screams for a Warnock type Red Adair esq man so Baines is a gamble……unless they can persuade a Warnock,Bruce,Mcarthy to step in and help him till June. Wishful thinking I know……Jungle drums seen to say Caldwell will be announced soon…..not my choice but as with any Wigan Athletic manager appointment he’ll have my support……..no choice really so no point being negative.

There’s the huge elephant in the room….Sustainability is the issue…..it’s total fantasy!!!…..cant imagine any club is totally sustainable……..so very simple if Danson has one iota of ambition then he needs to invest……..then maybe he will see some success and some financial returns……but not in league 2.
