Do you think we may get some Man U fans going to wembley now they are out. It used happen when we were non league / lower league. Hence why we used to take so many away from home in the fa cup.
Me,wife and two kids on Train Friday stay two nights and train home Sunday. Prem inn £80. Two mates risking the train. Brother and nephew on coach.
Just read match report on Mudhutters and Jones only scored 1 not 2 goals
I think it would be a good idea if “Robbie” signed “Arry” on as our defensive coach.
My mate in Peterborough says we allegedly enquired about him in january but a fee could not be agreed, so I think it will be a done deal if they have accepted the price we have offered.
My concern would be, he was good in league 1 when they won promotion (partnering Mclean, not kept out by him) 2 years ago and has scored goals this season in league 1 BUT when they went up last time he could not score in the CHAMPIONSHIP and they went down.On Sunday he missed 2 chances in the first half that he should have scored but did not let that affect him and scored in the second half.
As said earlier the fans of Peterborough love the guy and he is a hero to them, lets hope he becomes a hero for us.
Rang ticket office today and they said it is pay on the night.
So hopefully if the weather is “fair” (Wiganers being “fair weather fans”) we should get a decent turn out.
But then again who is on Sky in the Champions league ??Why not Hodgson WITH Martinez ????????
Griff, just posting what I have heard and agree I don’t think he is the answer.
Looks like we are shopping bargain basement as usual but as also stated he can’t score any less than Bosseli !!!!!!!This happens at most grounds in the prem, not just Wigan.
I have been to see Wigan at Anfield and Old trafford in seats that companies we buy materials off, have given to me.
As you say people don’t want to see the lesser games i.e. Wigan but I do.
Must say it is not very enjoyable, as you are sat with the home fans, who especially at old trafford are a set of tossers.
That was the worsed penalty I have seen.
Bobby tried to blame the pitch by stamping down the grass.
He would have got away with that on todays Wembley pitch but not in those days, it was like a bowling green.Went for the weekend, with the supporters club (I think)
Joe Mills and gang I think organised it.remember Man U last in the first game and all their fans left, even though the tickets covered both days of football. Typical manc to$$ers
Was this match on Friday night ??????
I’m sure I went for the weekend with my mate, who’s girlfriend had moved down there the year before. (it was either 1979 or 1980, all abit blurred!!!)
We went on the train Friday morning, stayed at her house in Paighton Friday and Saturday night, then train home on the Sunday (what a long journey that is).
Remember coming back to Paighton on the bus after the game, reading the programme (obviously the pages about Wigan) and the whole bus started singing “we hate Wigan and we hate Wigan”.
I soon closed the programme.
Later on went to a night club that was playing loads of northern soul and punk music.
Had a great weekend but the girl ended up dumping my mate at the station on the Sunday.
We have a 10ft x 5ft St George flag from Barmy flags (not cheap paid about £100 over ten years ago)
WAFC in each white square and Golborne Blues (horizontal) and Wigan Ath (vertical)
Used to take it to all home and most away games in the lower leagues and can be seen on most of our goals at home when the family stand was in the north stand.
First season in the prima dona league there were few grounds where there was room to put it out, as we used to take our full allocation!!!!!!!!Nowadays we dont go many away games and at home games there is no room to put the flag where we sit (SS4 in the middle) don’t fancy putting at the bottom, when we can’t see it.
Problem this season it has only had 4 outings and has not seen a win (Stoke away, Notts county away, notts county home and Brum away) so we are reluctant to take it now!!!!!!!
Five of us going as my lad is the mascot.
Good point.
Would have settled for it before the game.
