Bill kenyon coming up to me in the days when i worked at morrisons in the galleries (90 – 93), & asking me “can you tell me where your buckets are please.”

Living in the same street as tony pennock (dereham way, winstanley)

Kevin nicholls living at the bottom of our street (gladden hey drive, winstanley). He lived in another street but it faced our house.

Meeting joe hinnegan at my grandma & grandads in wallgate the day before he was leaving for sunderland.

Bumping into larry lloyd in asda.

Bumping into roberto martinez (the player) at sainsburys cafe. It was around 12pm. I went over & asked if he was playing today. He replied “yes, im just having something light for lunch before making my way to the ground.” He had beans on toast.

Bumping into the latics team of ’87 at manchester airport. They were jetting of somewhere for end of season break. We were dropping someone off. My dad asked if we could have a photo with them. They obliged.

An ex workmate of my dad who was a football league referee used to give us free tickets for the main stand (springy park days) when he came down to ref. We would also get complimentary tickets to go into the players lounge after the game. Me as a kid going up to the likes of bobby campbell, donny page etc. & getting starstruck.

Alright you boring Barsteward, give it a rest. Jeezus.
Just had an influx of memories come back all of a sudden. And BTW, my name aint jesus.
Staff going around Springfield Park with buckets collecting money off fans to help with player wages.

Remember that well! And folk think we’re in a bad state now.

Trouble is it’s all ifs.
We are hoping players that have been signed in January can lift us out of the mess Caldwell created and Joyce continued. All this means is changes yet again and further experimenting with tactics and positions.
Joycey has been setting up not to lose but we continue to lose and maybe the only change we need to do is play with two attacking players similar to second half on Tuesday and get someone out wide who can take defenders on and put crosses in. Then stick with that positive play till the end of the season.

I agree with you donny. Playing to avoid defeat is always asking for trouble IMO. Time to throw caution to the wind now & just go for it. I would much rather we lost trying to win the game.

Disastrous late goal again and other results went for us.
Not happening this season is it ?

Said right at the start of the season, if we finish 4th from bottom i will be happy.

As angry & as frustrated as i am after that result, & TBH, i’ve been calm this season, i personally think us & blackburn will get out of it & burton & bristol city to go down.

Sunderland had a big mudslide day too.

I knew it. I always get sheff utd & sunderland fans mixed up with that mudslide.

Sheff utd mudslide. Always a classic.

Bloke who stood on his own in the persisting down rain whilst everyone else ran for cover under popular side. He even lied down at one point.

Chucking snowballs at a photographer.

in reply to: Alex Bruce #154796

My guess is morgan. Good defender but always imjured. It will be bruce, burn & buxton as the 3 main CB’s – thats my guess anyway.

Decent signing IMO & comes with great experience.
