didn’t know there was a guarentee on beating pompey – mighty aff. chelsea & liverpool were both supposed to be nailed on wins for them both – didn’t work out like that though!!
ok, the pompey result was frustrating, but to be honest i think we could have played portsmouth under 16’s & still not managed a win. i detected a lot of nerves & anxiousness on wednesday & it dosen’t help when we have the worst bunch of moaning fans in football history who if you don’t want this club relegated, stop the booing, jeering and the rest of the negativity & get behind the team. the lads need our support now. start the criticisms at the end of the season.
i agree with truelatic – rodders playing in a more central position behind main striker could work & maybe should be given a try.
oh ffs. look, i was pi55ed off after today, the goals we conceded would not have even been made by schoolboys, but we were told at the start of this season that it was all about survival & if we can do that, the aim was to push on from next season.
i disagree with martinez being labelled as clueless. yes, he might be tactically naive at times, but he is still learning at premiership level. next season is the time to judge, & if we are in a similar position again next season – then act.
everyone is entitled to their opinions, but why can’t we just get behind the team. there are 5 big games coming up & the lads need our support. :D
good post edinburgh. the sending off did change the outcome of the game. would have been nice as well if we could have taken our chances.

– i was the only latics fan in the WHOLE school. the rest supported the rugby & if they did support a football team it was either man utd or liverpool.– my school (st mary’s- standishgate) was RIGHT next door to central park. a huge grey wall separated the school & their ground.
– i used to hate it when in the early 90’s the likes of connolly, offiah & co used to walk round wigan town centre like they owned the joint.
– the council was always up their arses & would not help latics when we needed help. now the council are up our arses.
i could probably think of more reasons, but can’t at this moment in time.
the goals we conceded were typical of a team that are edgy because of our league position as well as being low in confidence. the first goal made me laugh (though it shouldn’t have done) when it took the villa fans about half an hour to realise they had scored. thought we responded well & deserved the equaliser, but was frustrating when their 2nd goal went in.
natdan – fair play to you & a very good positive post. at the end of the day there will still be twists & turns between now & the end of the season, but as i have said in previous posts, now is the time to get behind the lads, martinez & co.
no idea to be honest with you blueneon. i’ve been living in runcorn since 2004 when i was dragged here by the wife (wanted to move back to her home town), so i don’t know too much about the town, or for that matter don’t really want to. :D
ticslad, everyone was over the moon when we got promoted, & to be honest i don’t want us to get relegated. but the point of this discussion is that if we do go down, i think we will see who the real fans are from next season.
