In summary:
Takeover to be put to shareholders of IEC on 2 November
Most of current senior staff including JJ and PC to stay
Joe Royle and his son to join board
Money to be put into developing youth players for the club… and sorry, chaps, but Warriors staing, although they will be looking at using the stadium for concerts etc
This is just from a skim-read so I may have missed some bits
Page 29 sets out a vision
Paul Cook and Jonathon Jackson to stay along with many others (pages 26-27) and Joe and Darren Royle onto the Board
“And if reports in the press are anything to go by he’s already knocked back a deal at Wigan”
Tomorrow’s chip wrappings. The source being someone’s uncle who had their hair cut by someone whose next door neighbour knows someone who works on the concourse beer bar.
Knocked back a deal, even if true, could well mean “rejected an initial offer” – it’s called negotiation.
I’m still trying to figure out Burn for Powell. We started with four defenders – the two centre backs Cedric and Donkey and the two wing backs James and Anthoneeee.
The wing backs pressed forwards, but while James tried to find open spaces Robinson just pushed forward down a crowded wing, didn’t find himself in any space where he could use his speed, was tackled fairly easily and didn’t track back.
This left the centre backs exposed as Preston then push down our left flank. Kipre would move over to cover it, but it then left Dunkerley with a dilemma – does he shuffle left into the centre leaving our right flank open, or move right leaving a gap the size of the M6 up the middle.
If Powell hadn’t gone off injured I would have expected us to go to three at the back with Robinson off. Being forced to make a change for Powell, I suspect that PC made the decision to try that switch anyway, shoring up the defence with a “solid” line (yes, hindsight is marvellous) which would then allow James (who was excellent by the way) and Robinson a freer role to push forward without having to be concerned about defensive duties.
It was actually in my view an attacking change, but the players just didn’t rise to the challenge and reading between the lines of his post-match comments he had some very strong words with them behind closed doors.Today was down to Cook and Cook alone.Nonsense. I don’t mean he got it right, but to say it’s his fault alone is ridiculous. The players hugely underperformed today and didn’t at all seem to grasp the importance of this game to the fans.
And Anthoneeeeeeeeee can go back to Everton tomorrow. I’ll drive him.
I’m not impressed by Evans tbh. Slows things down and passes sideways too often.
On a couple of occasions I decided the rugby’s attendance.
Long story … ;)
I’m yet to score, well in this context at least. But this week it will all change; I never want to peak too soon. The game is on 20+10+2018 equals 2048 times the 4 sides of the stadium equals 8564 plus 3054 away fans equals 11,146.Schoolboy error, GG.
You haven’t looked at all the evidence.
If you check on the West Brom message board you’ll see that Barry from Dudley is gutted that he can’t make it because his wife is insisting they go to her cousin’s wedding.
Your figure of 3,054 for the visitors is out by one.Not a chance of Paul taking that job that’s a poisoned chalice.
He’s doing fine with us and will stay.
But that won’t stop either the bookies looking at him, or the “my mate who works with someone who knows someone who goes to the same hairdresser as someone from the ticket office’s cousin” crew from having their say.12542
