And probably still minus 5 degrees, even in July.
If he was going to sign for Everton or Newcastle, I suspect that the place for discussions about that would be in Liverpool or in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Everton are actually in Philadelphia and Washington, while Newcastle are in Kansas, Orlando and Columbus.
If you think they are close enough to NYC for Charles to have a little chat with the relevant people then can I suggest that before you “put that to Roberto” you have a little look at a map. :?
Anyone remember the blow-up Heinz beancans?

Another one

He’s a very good poacher – but to do that he needs a supply, not (as JR said) having to do it all on his own from 35 yards out.
We need Heskey. :D (and I’m only half joking)
If you’re after a good Italian meal then Sorrentos at Orrell Post is the best in Wigan. There is a rumour that Francos microwave its food & using prepacked dishes.I have heard the Chinese Buffet on Standishgate is also excellent & you get plenty of choice on the buffet.
Chinese Buffet is very good if you like Chinese (obviously) and are happy to keep piling your plate high and having course after course (it’s one of those where you pay a set price and just keep going back and getting something else). Not a place with ambience for a special occasion dinner sort of thing, but good value. Probably also suit a works “do” before going for a night on the pop.
A bit like the Taybarn, which is OK in a cafeteria sort of way too. (Sorry if this sounds snobbish  )
Sorry but how am I expected to react to this “revelation”?
Maybe it’s true. Without a name it’s meaningless. Even with a name it’s actually none of my business. Prurient interest maybe, but in reality nothing to do with me, or my support for the team. Sort of “News of the World-esque”. So – he has a dodgy mobile phone. I think players who have been on our books in the past have far worse things on record. And players elsewhere, say in the maroon part of Edinburgh, are far more deserving of our opprobrium (look it up). Actually there are some in the cherry and white half of Wigan who are less than angelic.
And if it isn’t true but just tittle-tattle and gossip – well….
I’ll just add a little thought. So unnamed player A is “pulled over” by the police for some unspecified reason, but apparently all is OK. So he can go on his way. But no. Wait. PC Plod decides to check his phone for some reason.
Now – I’m quite addicted to Road Wars and similar, but not once have I ever seen them “check someone’s phone”. And who, frankly, would buy a mobile off someone in the pub these days? But it seems you are saying there is mobile phone recognition software like they have for stolen cars and uninsured vehicles
Just a thought (or two) – like.
Buraq in Bryn – definite if you’re into Indian food.
Well, of course he did – there are some stories that just are true to lull us into a sense of security.
But the story about the London bus that was seen on the moon has been causing some concerns….
And as for the tall tales that Cameron cares about the British public
Premier League teams (and even in the old days “First Division” teams) play very few home friendlies. Even long ago when I watched Liverpool they never played a home friendly.
Smaller clubs prefer to have the kudos of a Premier League team (albeit often a collection of second stringers) visit their ground and attract their fans, than have to travel to a Premier ground with little support and really nothing in it for them.
The same goes for foreign teams. If you actually look at the friendlies planned for Premier League teams you will see that most are away, except for one game at home in the last weekend, almost all of which are against Spanish or Italian opposition.

Our game against Villareal has been added at the foot of the comments.
You mean the stories from other sites like Vital Football may not be up-to-date, or even … accurate?
What is the world coming to? You’ll be telling me next that newspapers print things that aren’t true.
“Thank God for Rupert Murdoch” is what I say. If only everyone had his standards for reporting.
I don’t suppose anybody has a picture of our old mascot?
I think Mr Garswood is favourite Jayt, if he doesn’t have one then nobody will!!!. [/quote]
No pressure there then.
But, God, I’m good! :D

and

Both from the same programme in 1972.
Happy to help.
It’s an old joke, but someone has to do it:

On the same topic – do Specsavers still sponsor the SPL referees? I think that was brilliant opportunism :D
An open and shut case I’d say.
Bagged quite easily.
