great post that, if you have an online gallery to share somewhere would be really interested in seeing it.
ThanksA mixture of stuff that I’ve done (not just football)
Lancashire Junior Cup 1978 against Chorley
Cheers.
9:20 for an evening match? Sounds right to me for a 7 o’clock kick off..Were his name spelt wrong on his shirt? Was it spelled Moursy?
That’s fine. His name is Arabic so is really written in Arabic (سام مرسي).
The vowel in the middle of his surname is a long O sound, so although at Wigan we transcribe it as Morsy, it is just as correct for the Egyptian national team to transcribe it as Moursy (no matter what the Sun thinks).I have a friend who supports Toronto, and that’s more or less his view
I’ve got his mobile number. I’ll send him a message
I keep meaning to ask you every time I see you but forget so….How come you have the flag of Zambia as your profile pic?[/quote]
If he doesn’t read this, I’ll answer – he was born there

I watched a couple of games in Switzerland in October and in Zurich the programmes covered a couple of games. Maybe that is the way forward, as the current rules of having to produce a programme for every game would limit that.
At St Gallen they even went one step better: the programme was smaller (about the size of a train timetable, but 52 pages – I’ve put a 10p coin on the picture for comparison), and were free. They were stored in a holder (a bit like the ones for train timetables actually), that you could just take one from. And yet there are people on here who think players like Jacobs and Grigg aren’t worth 1 million…..Of course they are. Modern climate.
As us paying it for a 19 year old prospect proves.
Sorry to disagree, Dave, but it’s about investment for the future.
It’s how the stock exchange works.
You pick out a prospect that looks like it will do the business, and you buy. Maybe at an inflated price, but you gain your asset and have it there to nurture. If it does the business then you sell at a great profit. If it bombs, then “that’s business”. If you are like us and look after the books carefully even the odd “bomb” can be cushioned.
If you’re Villa or Sunderland or whoever, you don’t invest with a careful risk strategy, and crash.
Will Grigg may command over a million based on his goal scoring record last season, and his fame due in no small part to the song.
But Jacobs? No way.Egypt are now my third team after England and Bobbys boys even though I found it abit of a shithole when I went. Can I just say that Egypt are my second team after Belgium, and in third place are England :D
Because they are “big clubs”.
I think most of would agree that for us next season is about consolidation. Mid-table will be good.
But for the Villas etc they “have to be” in the PL. It’s their birthright. It’s their destiny. They get big crowds, don’t you know?
We, on the other hand, know what a crock of Shi’ite it is.…and if he does play and has a good World cup?Be careful what you wish for…
Brilliant that he’s in the squad, but honestly can’t see him starting much, and if he does get game time I suspect he’s not going to set the world on fire. That’s genuinely not being disrespectful to him, I love him to bits, but on the world stage he isn’t one that people are going to be hunting down.
Must be good.
Here’s the predictable comment from a Posh board:
“LDSL personally though he was garbage yep local lad always like them to do well, can’t see him being anything other than a bench warmer if he’s gone for 7 figure sum thats cracking business but also sums up to much money goes on bang average footballers now.”
Rearrange the following : grapes sour.Schadenfreude
Sorry, mutty, and far be it from me to post a link to this rag, but it is allegedly the world’s largest online newspaper, and this is its current second top headline
That looks like major world interest to me
