Vat, you have given the very reason that standing should not be brought back to our stadia. People forget about kids being at games.

TBH They don’t care – they still stand all through, stand in aisles, pile all into seats they have not been allocated, chuck flares at random into our own fans etc etc.
However – I am with you that seating is still far better for me and mine. There is some control at least. “Atmosphere” is used as an excuse for reintroducing terracing – “atmosphere” is NOT a load of pissed up lads falling over, slurring and creating problems for our own fans.

One of the reasons I pick and choose which away games to go to, and we’re certainly very careful about which ones we take the grandson to.
Tend to avoid the “jolly boys’ outings” ones, Like Blackpool (or Fylde). Much prefer the further ones where more real supporters travel, rather than yobs who can’t “hold their ale” looking for a booze up.

Didn’t realise England had reached the final.

I just think the Idea that you can have a RL world cup is a bit of a joke, there’s only 3 nations take it seriously.

Saying that I want England to win the same as I would like the England womens netball team to win.

I know they were desperate for teams to fill the RL World Cup, but I think getting the England Netball team to play was a bit silly ;)

But Dave, isn’t that exactly the Johnny-big-whatsits approach that we hated about other teams when we were in the Prem?
“We’re [insert name of “big” club here] – we will bring you huge crowds – you ought to be grateful for us to come along and spend money in your ground – because you’re a nothing little club with United and Liverpool fans as hangers on”?

I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
They are sponsors, and they will plug the team they are sponsoring.
But they are bookies – and the more people they can persuade to bet on Fylde the better for them. They know what they’re doing ;)

I bow to your better memory marrer I remember the shorts not matching the kit and it looking strange. Memory on the blink methinks

To be fair, I had to google it but I did think when I saw your post that I was sure we played in black shorts at the time anyway!!
I forgot about the blue and black stripes and black shorts. Worrying really coz the 2nd version with the lighter shade of blue and wider stripes was a favorite of mine. I’m getting owd.
That was the year we had Inter as first kit, Roma as away kit, and played like Luigi’s Pizza Parlour.

….Also saw some footage of the Hertha crowd and they do proper singing and syndrome clapping ( just like the old days ). Will be going to watch them, when I’m next in Berlin. Anyway, will be back in time for the Kirkham bash ! LHL on tour in Berlin !

I went to the Olympic Stadium a few years back to watch the Berlin derby, Hertha v Union. They were both in te Second Division but it was a 75,000 sell out.
Tickets were easy enough to get online though, and the atmosphere was brilliant.
I don’t like flares but the Union fans lit up their end, there was great singing and chanting, they did that thing of announcing the team by the announcer shouting out the first name and everyone added the surname, able to drink beer (and smoke) in the seats, although there was a Union section there were Union fans all around among us who jumped up when they scored with not a bit of a problem ….
Everything that is wrong with English football shown up.
Go for it. Easy to get to by plane, great underground system.

There is no room in this forum for such open bigotry

How many of you lot went to Rotherham?

Does it matter?
And before you ask, yes I did go.
But I also realise that others couldn’t for one reason or another, or maybe just don’t go to away games.
No problem to me. We are all supporters. There isn’t a hierarchy of support.

Good to see not all of the players participated in this bloody shite, thumbs up from me.

Its bad enough them wearing pink or orange boots without this.

Do you have a problem with this initiative, Bullitt?

Yeah me too, get this shit off here!
My comment was showing no surprise over who would oppose this move, that has been accepted by every League club including our own

And then draw Spurs away so we are at Wembley again.
Well my grandson would love that :D

Or better still charge £25-30. Get the waverers to use their new Xmas present half-season ticket. And rake the money in from thos who can’t be bothered to commit something upfront to the club, and from the Shrewsbury fans.
You could make it free and people still wouldn’t come.
As said, what about us who have put the money in upfront before we knew which end of teh table we were going to be?
