Magennis had a shocker I must admit. We should have kept hold of Ashley Fletcher, even he’s scored and assist today

lol he didn’t score at all. He’s played 20 games for them with no goals!!!!
Every game Tickle plays the more it’s gonna be so hard when we lose him
Going to be a sad difficult day when Tickle leaves. His passion for the club is unbelievable. It’s great to see in this modern era of prima dona players. I will be amazed if he stays in the January window, he deserves a chance on the (much) higher stage
A shout out again to Aimson who was equally resilient yesterday on a day when it needed players to stand up and be counted.
Brave decision to leave out Matt Smith but maybe the conditions did require the “tougher” players yesterday. Thought Adeeko was very good.
I do have to agree with this substitutions lark. Unless you are a couple of goals down it does seem an unnecessary risk to leave yourself without cover for a late injury. That said, I thought the (mainly very young) substitutes all played their part and stood up to the test well.
Was nice to enjoy a Saturday evening with an away win behind us
UTFT and on to Tuesday
Wem-ber-lee Wem-ber-lee
Have we unearthed another quality keeper 🤣
Would be so Wigan to go and win it now despite the shit show in the groups
We won the tie Lostock
Bolton, Huddersfield, Rotherham, Shrewsbury and Wrexham all lost to lower league teams.
It’s got nothing to do with whether we should win or not. We could have played like Brazil on Saturday and lost the tie and there would have been a meltdown. Instead we play poorly for an hour but still go through and still there’s a meltdown
Pretty sure you get an extra sub for extra time
I reckon 41 years makes me a “hardcore proper lifetime fan” as well
I’ve never once said you aren’t entitled to your opinion. Clearly I don’t have the same opinion and that’s fine because that’s football.
It’s the fact that people expect us to walk all over Carlisle and also teams in League One that is “entitled”
Nope not “out of touch”, just not entitled.
I’ve lived through the Swain, Joyce and McKay eras.
I’ll continue to sing the Maloney song along with the many other “out of touch” proper Wigan fans.
I agree Taylor and Hugill not good enough. Taylor shown glimpses but not on a consistent basis. I’m like you and would prefer to see Stones given a chance but I imagine there will be something in the loan contracts that them players must get game time
Negative Nancy.
Pretty sure you get an extra sub in extra time so not as dramatic as you make it out to be.
Attendances are down at the majority of EFL clubs. Most of it is due to the TV deal and because of many people’s financial situation.
I just love how much it must wind you up at the end of the game when the majority of fans are singing the Maloney song because it doesn’t fit your rhetoric that most fans want him out!!
Some fans are so entitled. We won the tie!! I’m not gonna sit here and say it was good because it wasn’t. It was terrible for an hour or so. But I wonder how Bolton, Rotherham, Huddersfield or Northampton fans feel today?
Even in recent years we have struggled against the likes of Solihull, York and Fylde. We lost to Chorley. Even in the Jewell days we lost at home to Canvey Island. It’s the cup, there are such things as “cup shocks”. Wigan should know about them, we beat City 3 times in 5 years with each one being a bigger cup shock than the previous one.
And yes Carlisle are next to bottom in the league, but they have probably invested more money in their squad than us. Wyke and Jones alone will be on at least a par with our top earners, probably on more.
Happy clapper or not I don’t care what you call me. Give your heads a wobble and enjoy the 2nd round draw. Stop being so entitled
Decent performance
Was a stonewall penalty
Pathetic defending for both goals
Wingers can’t cross a ball
Hugill isn’t good enough
I’ve got Kidderminster to the Prem in football manager. Does that make me a winner?
Leams Latics would have also smashed them. But they were on £10,000 plus wages. You know, the same wages Stockport are paying now but who you expect us to smash!!!
