Did anyone walking UP Montrose Avenue after the game notice the Chelsea ‘fan’ in the European Champions T-Shirt who was for some reason walking TOWARDS the Stadium? He’d either left early and got lost or was off to the Stadium to wait for the Chelsea players to leave.

Should be a free kick.If he was allowed to have his feet in the area, then in one-on-ones the keeper could dive forward out of the area at the forward’s feet as long as his own feet were in the area. Obvioulsy nonsense.

What an absolute embarrassment some of our fans are. Booing Moses in the second half when he touched the ball. Chants of ‘let him go, let him go’. FFS. the lad is in a Latics shirt. He was our most dangerous player all afternoon and despite some suggesting otherwise put in a good performance. He came here as a young player and continues to improve year in year out. At times last season he was a cut above the rest and he will make the club a sizeable amount of cash when he goes. What exactly is the problem? Its hardly his fault that he has the Champions of Europe chasing him? Funny how nobody really had a go at mercenaries like Diame and Hugo who left the club without a penny!Well, I’m not quite sure but I don’t think Hugo and Diame were playing today?
Moses didn’t look interested at times today imo and his final product as usual was shocking. If Chelsea still want to pay £9m for him after that then he can have a lift to London with me if he wants.
Shocking start but we coped well after that. Yes Chelsea may have thought ‘job done’ and relaxed slightly, but I think that takes a lot away from the way we dug deep.
Ramis looked pretty slow all game but did show some good touches later on. He was lucky with the clearance off the line that Torres didn’t opt to go down because he definitely shoved him once he realised he was too slow to catch him. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Having seen the replay on MOTD I thought Ali could have done better with their first goal.
Di Santo made one run through the middle in the whole game and then bottled his first touch. It went further than his shot. Game changer if that goes in.
Why oh why were we floating crosses into the box against Petr Cech when most times it was 5 v 1 in their favour? Hard and low lads, hard and low.
Some things to improve on, but far more positive than previous years.
PS – does anyone know the ruling on handball from a goalkeeper? My mate watching on TV said that the ball was definitely out the box but Cech had his feet inside the area. I would still deem that handball as it’s surely the position of the ball?
Spotted and wondered the same thing. They also looked like last seasons socks as opposed to this seasons.
Maybe we had to change late because Chelsea arrived with black and the ref deemed our blue and black to be too close a match?
I will always be sad to see a player leave who always gave 100% when he wears the latics shirt but with that being said he never really looked like he was going to start scoring at PL level.The lack of faith in Di Santo was well documented on here last season but I think he always added something to the team even when his goalscoring was non exsistent something that Connor never really did.
1.2 Million to turn a profit is a good price for a striker who has not done the business and with Di Santo , Boselli and Kone ahead of him it was unlikely he would get any game time this season anyway.
Could be a good move for the player though and best of luck to him.
Totally agree.
We play 1 central striker these days so in the cup games that will probably be Boselli so there’s no need for the Fish to stay if we can get £1.2m for him.
We shouldn’t (touches Wood, crosses fingers and clutches prayer beads) be bottom after week 1 either :)
I suppose they’re thinking that they have to get it right sometime and then they can all use the infamous line ‘I told you so’. Personally I’d settle for 17th providing we’re about 20 points clear of 18th ;)
