COME ON WIGAN
If it is such a rugby town your famous challange cup would kick off at 5:15pm Setday neet
Remind me what time Wigan v Qpr kicked off in August 2011?
Remind me which club had to move grounds over a fixture clash tubbie
You’d a thought you would of learned something then eh
Like your impression of a supporter eh ?
I wouldn’t fear the drop no way been through one relegation before donkeys years ago maybe all those who are crying and stamping feet are the fans who haven’t experienced relegation with the mighty tics just a thought like
To be fair to the Rugby they do get some large crowds when they play the likes of St Helens/Warrington any other time it can be quite poor, couple of weeks ago when they played Widnes they had less than 8’000 on for a super league game. our average attendance at the DW is around the 19’000 mark but that does include the away following.
The attendance for the Widnes game was 11,904.
If you were there then you would of seen the south and west were just over half full, at best the east had 1200 and the north 500.
But if you want to believe there were 11,904 on then be my guest, by the way the moon isn’t made of cheese!
They are totally deluded as I have said before after 130 years of a sport you would of thought it would of took off and gone global

Behind me Tuesday night a boy could not be older than 9 Was calling the lady linesman a few choice words of the disgusting variety I hope his mum is proud as she did feck aw
Dave, why will it affect us so badly if we lose out on the TV money for being in the prem?
A very good question John!
My understanding is that as a club we will still be financially secure as the majority of the TV money is spent on Premier League wages which IF we get relegated will drop considerably.
None the less with the increase of approx. £10 million in revenue per PL club next season the worry is it will create a bigger gap between the quality of the Premier League and Championship and we would like to be on that ship when it sails.
Then again its a strong possibility that the quality wont increase at all but players will still be paid more especially by the clubs coming up who some times have to offer that bit extra to secure a target.
Hopefully the likes of Crystal Palace will have the common sense to put in the essential clauses that we are reported to have in our players and staffs contracts.
God forbid they should find themselves in financial trouble again and have to write off another considerable chunk of their tax bill to HMRC so the rest of us can pick up the difference.
My thoughts are that we don’t pay premier league wages anyway, I’m guessing that our wage bill is actually the same as some championship clubs, and our transfer policy has been shrewd, add to that the work being put into youth development and a long term ethos at the club, and I think that we are structured to be in either the prem or the championship, it shouldn’t matter financially which one, although the prem is obviously preferable.
I really don’t think there is anything to worry about as supporters, it’s not for us to worry about financials, there’s enough to worry and moan about. Dave Whelan is as sharp a a tack money wise, and the inevitable foray into the championship will have been built into the structure of the business.
Might not happen yet anyway.
There was a thread about this and it as been done numerous times but I think Standish posted some thing about our wage bill being £39 million a couple of years ago against turnover of £45 million
so not much wriggle room either wayhhmmmmm 1973 cup shock 1988 cup shock 2013 ????????
