RM would make a good director of football at one of the bigger clubs. As for actually managing one of the bigger clubs at this stage of his career the answer would have to be no as he hasn’t enough experience in my opinion !
Dunno about the Moyes bit ABL. I think he will stick around here until the Man Utd job crops up. Think people may have been whispering in his ear.
My scenario is, If UTD win the Champions League, Fergie will step aside so Mourinho can take over. If Fergie doesn’t step down, Mancini will be sacked and Mourinho will go to City. Possibly Moyes to Chelsea for the Martinez thing to happen.
Moyes link to a move to Bundesliga is all over Blue Kipper, a major Everton site.
I do fancy Mourinho for United job though. A shoe-in I reckon.
Fergie stated a couple of week ago ABL that he is to keep going another 2 seasons so dont see the chosen one there at all and I just dont see Moyes abroad tho may be wrong. As for Chelsea christ knows coz Abramovich has,nt a clue so it could be anybody.Citeh is the interesting one especially if they lift the FA Cup.I wouldnt gamble anything on Mancini staying or going and as for Bobby he will be here im sure.
Won’t be Mourinho or Moyes – Guardiola is going to succeed Ferguson. His 3 year move to Bayern is perfect staging to keep him out of the EPL and prepped to take over at Old Trafford in 2 seasons time.
after being on close to minimum wage for years i cant fault the lad leaving for a decent wage increase
and also furthering is premiership career a while longer

Fil, if Bobby has a weakness it may be that the football he wants to play does not work well with certain players who may be regarded as average. At Wigan he has very little resources so implementing his required success is proving difficult for him. If he had the money to bring in top quality players combined with his footballing ideals then who knows how good he could be as a manager. I just wish that folk would realise that managing Wigan Athletic has to be the hardest job in the premier league and I think he would be a real success at one of the big clubs. Hopefully we wont find out.

Let’s not forget we are coming towards the arse end of the season, a time where agents like to shuffle their stock and generate rumours and interest in order to work towards the result where they earn a nice percentage from any transfers generated in the summer.
Just a thought, like.
In all honesty, I’m not too fussed who leaves at the end of the season. No player is bigger than the club. Yes, Figueroa has been a decent player, in my opinion. Especially considering he was a ‘makeweight’ kind of aquisition in the Palacios deal. I really don’t think he was expected to play such a part in the clubs history. He was put in for that last game of the season against United, if you remember, did fairly well, and has basically been a shoe-in ever since. Considering Hendry Thomas was considered THE big prospect from Honduras, and in my mind was nothing other than poor/very average at best (I think he pinched money, actually, and was mediocre), we haven’t done bad at all out of Figueroa.
Not the best left back we’ve had, but certainly not the worst. He’s given us a good service, and yes, if he leaves, then good luck to him.

All I am saying and it is just my opinion is that I don’t think he has the necessary experience to manage one of the bigger clubs at this time, regardless of resources ! His tactical nous is minimal and he can be stubborn and Wenger-like when it comes to diversifying, again just an opinion which as you know I am entitled to. In years to come I am sure he will mature manager-wise and become a great manager but for now I don’t think people should be linking him to this job and that job so to speak ! Had Liverpool actually really offered him that job I think he would have been found out at this stage of his career ! The stuff he has done at Wigan re youth structure etc is faultless and shows he cares for the club but one day when the big bucks come calling all of that will pale into insignificance and who could blame him if and when he leaves !
However, with such limited resources, he is rarely in a position to impose his tactics on a game. More often, he has to react to the tactics of the opposition.
At Wigan, his objective is to keep his first team fit. He hasn’t any experience of managing a large squad and rotating players for midweek matches. Despite his background, he has little experience of playing in Europe.
But you have to start somewhere. Rodgers has pretty much the same experience as Martinez, and he is learning more about his trade now.
Aye but he’s not always on that form! Costs us many a goal and is often caught out defensively. He’s a decent full back but not irreplaceable. Beausejour tenth in all season stats for assists in Premier League. Not bad for what many believe is a fat waster on the wing! If Figueroa has signed a pre contract with West Ham it’s not inconceivable he could be playing in the championship next year.
It’s possible to replace one player. But Di Santo, Figueroa and Alcaraz are all out of contract in the summer. And there are other players who are envied by more affluent clubs, including McCarthy and Maloney, and perhaps Kone too.
It will be difficult to replace them all. There is always a risk in signing new players – the player you already know is often a safer bet. It will be more difficult still if the manager leaves too!
Then the new players have to be integrated into a team. This usually contributes to a slow start to the season.
But that’s life at a football club. Players walk out of bigger clubs too. I hope that Martinez has his scouting team out looking now.
