      Hi Jason,
Quite a bit of discussion over on Vital about the (maybe understandable) lack of any comms from the Supporters Club. (It’s on the thread titled “New thread for all things takeover”).

Also, one poster in particular (Wlatic) says he has been trying in vain to get in touch with the SC. Any chance you can
      a) put out (or get the SC to put out) an update on where they believe they are in relation to potential bidders (without naming names of course). I appreciate this may very likely duplicate to an extent what the Admins say, but it might offer a little more confidence,
      and
      b) put Wlatic in touch with the right people

      Ta

Hi, sorry for not seeing that, I really can’t stand the format on vital (too many ads I suspect), it freezes up my devices something rotten.

I haven’t seen any correspondence regarding this, has he/she been emailing info@wiganathleticsupportersclub.co.uk? I have access to that account to reply if needed.

The Supporters Club have put an update out on the 22nd January 2020. If there are any further points that need raising then feel free to add them here if you wish?

        Let me know…

Can the Administrators not be overruled by anyone?

          Do they answer to anyone?

Surely they are not acting in the best interests of the football club and therefore need to reigned in and preferably fooked off

As far as I am aware they have not broken any rules, they also cannot be removed by anyone except their employers or by a satisfactory purchase.
It is frustrating but we have to hope a buyer is found, this is realistically the only way out of administration and therefore to be rid of Begbies Traynor.

The original takeover of my beloved club (which I have supported since 1972) from Mr Whelan went through with no problems, however the same guy/company IEC then contacted the admin team to ask, what would the state of play be IF he was to place latics in to administration……why didn’t Begbies Traynor contact the EFL to start alarm bells ringing….did they not have a duty of care etc……or were they actually thinking…..”hey up lads we can line our own pockets here…..”
Can the question please be asked, if they had prior knowledge of the club going in to administration, are they not ethically bound to report financially illegal moves…..

Unfortunately they did notify the EFL beforehand, they had too. The EFL were under a legal obligation not to divulge that information any further, no matter how much they wanted to

Not a fan of vital either. I did see those posts from wlatic. Someone from the supporters club came on and said they hadn’t received his emails and gave him their details. His response was to call them a liar and say it isn’t his place to chase them. You can’t help people like that. He criticised them for not putting out updates and then clearly missed 3 of their updates including one about their treasurer passing away.

What is the cut off date as to when WASC has to use the supporters led bid?

It’s a good question and one to which I can only give an opinion on, not backed with any fact right now, but I will ask the question.
The money that was raised by the fans is in ESCROW, and I guess there will be a time limit as to how long that can be held there. So if that time limit is 6 months, it will need to be used pretty soon or refunded.
I guess a decision will have to made very soon on the supporter led bid, and if it is submitted it may then have the knock on effect of geeing up the decision on the ones that re still in the process. It could of course mean the Supporters Club and local investors will effectively run the club.

                      Hi Jason,
Given the very worrying statement given by Paul Stanley re the Bahraini team going very quiet, coupled with other rumours re there being no other credible bidders, and topped off by the Admins saying last friday that there’d be no further friday updates, isn’t it appropriate (and timely) that the Supporters Club issue another update. I appreciate the restrictions they’re under with regard to confidentiality, and I also understand that some people will moan if it doesn’t tell them every last little detail, but at this worrying time, something is surely better than nothing.

Most of us (I am sure) are very appreciative of their ongoing efforts, but a slight improvement in comms – even if only to give a warm vibe – would go a long way to calming down the more pessimistic element of our fanbase …….. and it’s a bloody big element !

                      Many thanks

                      Ask and you shall receive

                      Update for Supporters – 5 March 2021

Talking to the admins, talking to the efl, talking to the bahrainis. Not sure what else they can do other than buy it which they’re working on as well.

For me, all of this shit has been caused by the admins. They are loving the spotlight and the attention and are just waffling in the press whenever they can.

Sorry for the late reply on this.
I see it was the same day as the WASC update was issued.
Paul Stanley and his company were not in a situation where he could comment on the Bahrain deal, as it was the EFL who were doing their due diligence. But as I have noticed through this process, rather than say nothing, he generally chooses to provide a doom and gloom statement.
The main one that got me was that, if the Spanish deal didn’t go through we would be looking at liquidation, when he knew full well that the fan option is there no matter what.
As it happens, less than 24 hours after his gloom, he comes back with everything agreed and moving on….. hopefully we will be away from the administrators very soon, and writing a new future for ourselves.
