Martinez to Old Trafford and Rosler to Everton.
Don’t worry – we’ll be rid of Rosler soon!
21 April 2014 at 10:42 pm #130104Looks very like May 9th, QPR – Home – First Leg
Austin (and Doyle) back for QPR tonight; scored last minute winner, went off injured (bad one, hopefully !).
Beat Blackpool, then I trust UR will tinker to perfection (Brum, Rovers), to get the lads set up for what is going to be a tough old 2-legger. Loftus Road not our favourite hunting ground …
2-0 defeat today could be a blessing in disguise .. one lousy 45 mins. in the play-offs, and promotion may become a distant dream. Can’t be allowed to happen. Rather now than then. A timely reminder how quickly things can go pear-shaped !
Today, was never going to be our ‘Cub Final’ (no prizes handed out) was though for Burnley.
In Uwe we trust … B)
No prizes. Our team shouldnt need a prize to beat a team who are 2nd in the league.dont make cheap excuses hey pal. ;)
no cheap excuse, just facing facts .. ‘battle / war’, mean anything to you ? this season’s a marathon .. I’ll settle now for winning the really important games (3 – yet to come) by which time we’ll have played 63 /64 this season. Sure you would too …
As one said earlier on BBC Sport, with the squad we’ve got we should be TOP 2 – thanks to good old OC we’ve been in catch-up mode for a good while, credit to UR we should hopefully claim a play-off berth with 2 to play, and have had a great run in the Cup, … give credit where its due, mate .. and think bigger picture
We have let sum games go through changein the sqaud.going off 2days game no team in the playoffs will fear us.For Battle/War 2days 1st half we surrenderd.2nd half was a case of we tried but retreated.or did O.C take the medals. ;)

Are you Dave Whelan. ;)
21 April 2014 at 11:10 pm #130106But why not play the same team as Friday.
We clearly weren’t good enough today but we are better than that.
Callum came on in the 2nd half though didn’t he hence the improvement??
Because he’s looking at a bigger picture than you. Pick same team by play offs were shot, rotate keep them fresh and come the play offs then play the best team, whatever that may be. Which I’m sure will be different to what those moaning on here think it should be.
Then he needs to straighten the picture cos today it was well off centre.
And you said it play the best team – That was Friday’s.
Exactly, it’s not about the picture today but the big picture at the end.

The architects of the display on Friday, Macca, Waghorn, Maloney & Espinoza haven’t played the equivalent of a normal seasons compliment of games between all of them, Gomez has been sat on his backside for a great deal of it as well, so resting players because of the ‘games played’ excuse is a lame argument.
How do you explain not rotating Fortune, Boyce & McArthur.
Fortune is being rotated.
Boyce and mccarthur maybe don’t need to, rosler works with them every day and knows whether there fresh or not.
Maloney and roger have had long lay offs, cannot honestly have expected them to start today.
I’m guessing wag horn was injured or he certainly would have made the bench
21 April 2014 at 11:38 pm #130108Was having a great day today at the cricket club next door , it had the feel of a pre season friendly sun was out everyone enjoying a few beers , and that was the performance we got , their is a bigger picture to this, would you all want Maloney Callum Jordi and a few others playing and getting injured for the rest of the season, nope , enough said let Uwe do his job , and if it doesn’t work out tough another season with shit refs .

The perch booking was laughable, both ran at the corner flag fast, burnley player turned round and ran into perch, booking? Complete clown

22 April 2014 at 12:55 am #130114We were gash today, they battered us.
We’re having more off days than on at the minute, generally when he goes daft with his selections. Get that full team out (Reading) against Blackpool and Birmingham and spank them, form is what you need going into these play offs, not tinkering around and getting beat. Some of these so called rested players don’t need a rest.
22 April 2014 at 1:25 am #130117Today was disappointing. Any defeat is disappointing; in this case hardly unexpected.
Brighton/Ipswich drawing has made the position clearer. 3 points, preferably a win on Saturday and we’re definitely in the play offs.
These final 3 games will not be easy though. Blackpool and Birmingham are fighting for their lives and Blackburn could still be challenging for 6th on 3rd May.
That said, I’m confident now we will be playing QPR on 9th…It is an advantage to play home 1st IMHO….get the runs on the board etc…. :woohoo:
22 April 2014 at 1:35 am #130121Would’ve been nice to cement our playoff place today and send a message to our rivals, but what did we have to gain by going all out with our strongest team against a club that was drooling for a home win to seal promotion?
Espinoza not even on the bench was puzzling though.
