Former Tottenham and England winger Chris Waddle, BBC Radio 5 live
Man City v Everton (1245 BST)“If you look at Roberto Martinez since he became a manager, his style is very Barcelona-esque and he is great at getting it to work. He has jumped a level to Everton. He will have to play 13 of this squad every game though, they will run out of legs. I love the way his team plays. You can see this team being top eight, but if he was allowed a few more players in the squad, you never know what might happen.”
Or, we could go with the LeylandNoNowts view

I don’t want to get involved in this pathetic thread, but this post from you takes the biscuit for nonsense, Waddle is a clueless no nothing pundit on a third rate radio show, who made this claim earlier this year :-
“You can go down a list of players from the Premier League or the 70s or 80s, whatever you want to do. I’ll be honest, David Beckham probably wouldn’t be in the first 1,000, I would say he has been a good player, I wouldn’t put him down as a great.”
you quote Waddle because it suits your cause, I would expect more originality from you.
Martinez’s Everton have made a good start, good luck to him, so all the pundits are creaming themselves with superlatives about how much better they are playing, which to be frank is bullshit, these same pundits will rip him as soon there are a few poor results.

I didn’t realise you had moved to Leyland.
Chris Waddle knows nothing about football? Aye, alreet.
I posted it because it appeared in front of my eyes while I was seeing how City were getting on. You really think I would waste time digging any deeper just to argue with you and those hillbillies from up the M6?

By the way, you’ll probably find quite a lot of knowledgeable people queueing up to say that Beckham wasn’t great. Still, perhaps they should have all checked with you first, eh?
5 October 2013 at 6:46 pm #121928Well they were poor today despite taking the lead early on.
City outplayed them completely.

And twice as many who thought he was great, rubbish players don’t win countless honours with the two biggest clubs in the world.
No one needs to check with me, whereas you seem to think everyone needs to check with you before posting their opinion on griffs world
5 October 2013 at 6:57 pm #121930Not quite succeeding to compete with the money-bags City …………… or likely contenders to be in the bottom 4. By which yardstick are we supposed to be measuring Everton’s (sorry, Martinez’s) recent performances?
If it’s the the first, then fair enough, they might struggle throughout the course of the season. If it’s the second, then get a bloody grip.
5 October 2013 at 7:28 pm #121932No one needs to check with me, whereas you seem to think everyone needs to check with you before posting their opinion on griffs worldNot at all. If I think someone is talking bollocks I will tell them so and have a good old laugh at their expense, too.
Rarely get aggressive and full off nasty personal insults like you normally do.
Anyway, it’s quite reassuring to have the old LMB back – talking shite and causing trouble in a phone box.

I’m sure that Waddle has said some foolish things about football. However, on the subject of Martinez at Everton, he does seem to share a common view that Martinez has made a good impression so far.
Perhaps you know of a football pundit with a different view – and can share it with us.

I can easily show a 10:1 ratio of personal insult trading in your favour if you want, not only with me but with anyone who doesn’t share your outlook on any given subject.
And you have an opinion on EVERY subject on this board.
5 October 2013 at 9:19 pm #121938Chris Waddle one half of this top duo ! ha ha ha !
Cracking comment underneath that says ” Why don’t they just spit roast her like footballers do ” ha ha ha :cheer:
5 October 2013 at 9:34 pm #121940Another clueless know nothing pundit on a third rate newspaper?
Euro vision: Perhaps we were wrong to laugh at Martinez and his Champions League dream for unbeaten Toffees…
By SIMON CASS MailOnline 1 October 2013
But with a campaign already shaping up to be the most fiercely contested at the top for many a season there is every chance one of the usual suspects will not be playing Champions League football next year.
Will that be Manchester United and can Everton sustain their challenge? Only time will tell. One thing is for sure, Martinez is finding the transition to the next stage of his managerial career a whole lot less troublesome than the man he replaced.
5 October 2013 at 9:58 pm #121941Another clueless know nothing pundit on a third rate newspaper? So you rate the daily mail as high as “third rate” do you ?
It is nothing to do with what any pundit says, pros or cons, my reply was about using what these pundits say to legitimise something they believe in themselves, can you let me know your opinions on Rodney Marsh, Paul Merson or Stan Collymore,
Do any of them know anything about football ?
Using your analogy, because they have said disparaging things about WAFC in the past, probably not. ,
5 October 2013 at 11:10 pm #121942And you have an opinion on EVERY subject on this board. And what exactly is wrong with that on a discussion forum?
It’s not actually true, by the way, but you’ve never been one to let the facts get in the way of a good story, have you?

7911 posts would suggest there are very few subjects you don’t give your two pennyworth on.
