4 December 2013 at 5:52 pm #124356Martínez has made a good start; Kenwright, like Whelan, appears to have made a sound choice. The new Everton manager has passed all the tests his replacement at Wigan failed. Everton are optimistic again. Where the journey ends up is anyone’s guess, but it won’t be the Championship and it won’t be dull.

5 December 2013 at 1:43 am #124371How come his side has so many clean sheets, something that is a far cry from when he was here ! I’ll tell you why, far far better players ! Bigger club and better players, who can really blame him for leaving ‘Little Wigan’ !
5 December 2013 at 1:47 am #124373Painfully true Filmoss. Same Philosophy, Similar tactics but far better players! Lukaku, Barry, Barkley, Baines, Jagielka and Howard all look like world beaters at the moment.

Maybe it’s a league of contrasting styles, cos I seem to recall that we looked better against classier opposition and failed miserably to beat the average teams. I think I’ve hit the nail on the head; Bobby had one style. Had he been more adaptable then we might have survived.
5 December 2013 at 1:00 pm #124396If we would of had at least three fit central defenders we would have survived

You agree Everton have a far superior team then go on to say why its all Martinez’s styles fault….
Just what this thread needs some more illogical anti Martinez rhetoric.
We could of never got Martinez and hired someone like Coyle. How long do you think we would of lasted with his “style”? We certainly wouldn’t have one of the strongest squads in the Championship this season…..
I don’t know why I am even bothering to try and defend him any more.. I am quite frankly bored to death of the subject. Roll on Ian Holloway.
5 December 2013 at 11:20 pm #124415Don’t worry Salford. His only purpose is to wind people up.
Just imagine how much he and the other Bobsessives are suffering this season.
And that’s on top of what we’ve all suffered with Coyle.
6 December 2013 at 11:01 am #124425The root cause of our current predicament starts with BOB. He should have been man enough to stay and sort it out. Judas !
