I hope he’ll ( R.M ) will be a one season wonder ! Pity it wasn’t at Wigan, where he was a one game wonder. Anyway, I’ll thank him for that one special game and that’s were my love ends for Judas !
Fixed for ya Lostock :woohoo:
16 July 2014 at 3:01 am #132301My money is on Everton doing no better than they did last season, in fact I’ll stick my neck out and say they will not be in the top 7.It will be tough at the top, I’m sure. Michael Owen says, “But, in no particular order, my top four for next season would be Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool.”
Arsenal and Spurs are likely to be big spenders too. Everton – with much more modest resources – will have to compete with these big six clubs. And, for the first time, Martinez will face the challenge of Europa League matches.
So your forecast is not very adventurous after all, JR. It will indeed be asking a lot of Everton to finish even in fifth place once again. But the Europa League does offer them an alternative route into the Champions League. Perhaps Everton should concentrate their resources on that instead of the league.
However, there may well be upsets. Rodgers, at Liverpool, will also be leading his club into Europe for the first time. He will have to replace Suarez too. And Spurs and Manchester United will both start the new season under new managers. And who knows how Stoke and Crystal Palace will perform?

Are you beginning to have doubts in the ability of Martinez to take Everton forward after all this highest points total malarkey?
You have made some good points there Barnsley, I wonder if the other two amigos will finally see the light. ;) B) :P
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!16 July 2014 at 4:07 am #132306[Danny Finkelstein] used the wage bill of each club to predict the number of points that it should win. The manager who exceeded his target by the most points to become “a very worthy winner” of Manager of the Year is Roberto Martinez.
That is the most pointless post in the history of forums.[/quote]
So now you do agree that the managers with the greatest resources should be more successful!
16 July 2014 at 11:43 am #132307I have my views other people have theirs, that’s what this football forum malarkey iI’ll try to sit back and wait to see what happens, seeing that the 3 amigos have all got their knickers in a twist again.John, you’re both deluded and mental if you think that anyone with at least half a brain is doing anything but laugh at you and the rest of you who still apparently can’t get over the fact that Martinez has left.
As for the Torch, you are fast becoming the biggest knob on this board since Tony Gallagher and his multiple shite creations – oh, hang on a minute.
You’re one of the main reasons why I am happy to spend less and less time reading most of the shite that gets posted on here. Let’s hope it gets better when the season starts, but I doubt it.

As I’ve already posted at least three times, Martinez was not brought in at Everton to ‘take Everton forward’.He was brought in by them because their highly rated manager had been headhunted by Man Utd.
His goal is to maintain Everton’s position as a top half club on a shoestring budget, but in the process he has also brought on some of their young players and has them playing a style of football that is much more pleasing on the eye than under their previous manager.
The Champions League nonsense was, as I’ve said before, Bill Kenwright trying to appease the disgruntled supporters on the appointment of a manager who just left a relegated club.
There’s little-to-no-chance of Everton making the Champions League (again as I’ve said several times on this thread), and I’m sure Kenwright knows this full well, hence why Martinez was rewarded with a new contract despite not making the top four.
So, in summary, there is no light to see.
And as for the knickers in a twist comment from your previous post, I (and I’m pretty confident most of the others who respect what he’s done for the club) wouldn’t be posting anything about Martinez on this forum if it wasn’t for bitter and twisted little men like you starting up threads in his honour!

16 July 2014 at 7:16 pm #132322Was the Martinez squad number just luck?

17 July 2014 at 2:25 am #132330A cool and calm assessment from the School of Science website;
Now, we have our Bobby. He has gotten rid of the ‘Route One’ and replaced it with an astonishingly beautiful playing style of possession and flair. And Sylvain Distin’s clearances.
We have been changed [from] a fan-base that sauntered groggily down to Goodison on a Saturday afternoon to struggle to keep our eyes open, (Most of the time, Moyes had his moments in fairness) to a scarily jolly group of mates who will scream ‘Oviedo Baby!’ at the top of their lungs while dancing in their seats watching the Blues play like Barcelona. It’s amazing how much one man can do to change the opinions of the widespread consensus in a mere year.
Roberto Martínez has transformed Everton into a team which has been a joy to watch, and been a guilty pleasure to many fans around the country. Heck, the World.

Didn’t start this thread up and bitter and twisted are harsh adjectives from someone who doesn’t know me or the originator of this thread.
“WE” differ in opinion to you, live with it FFS!!.
I’m amazed with your inside information about what BK thinks and does, or could it be you are just surmising and making it up in order to put your argument forward on this thread? :huh:It looks very much like you and Barnsley are squirming out of the debate on the Martinez taking Everton forward, just the griffster left now.
That comment you made me pish myself laughing, can just see the Everton board and fans sitting round the boardroom table and pub tables saying, well boys what is the target for this year for our beloved footy team….mmm little voice pipes up, what about a champions league place?, all the others look at him, don’t be daft we can never qualify for that with our budget, same little voice pipes up.. what about a major trophy?, all others look round, don’t be daft our Bobbee is going to play some fringe players in the cups, save the legs of the big boys, so we can’t win any of them….., same little voice pipes up….war-about la’s, playing some nice tippy tappy footy and going all out for a place in the top half of the premier league, say a position 7th to 11th?…all look at one another shrugging their shoulders and begrudgingly say OK, well go on then, it’s been good enough for the last 25 years……….who’s coming to Southampton.
Think about this Standish, then stop interacting with us childish, bitter, twisted little men.
Dave Whelan and the board sat round the table at the JJB , well boys, nice new stadium, semi decent team and manager, what is the realistic plan for our beloved club………………the rest as they say is history and so is Everton’s future if you, BK and all the Everton players and officials, believe that shyte you have just spouted. B)
