Perhaps Roberto should give top priority to the Europa League.

Win that and Everton would qualify for the Champions League, possibly even entering at the group stage.

That would deliver his promise to BK.

Oh yip I forgot about that, first a 4 year deal then a 5 year deal that’s 9 years. They’ll probably give him another 10 year deal and the plan will be that BK pops his clogs having seen no improvement in the club and he will go to the grave with no egg on his face, but still no champions league footy at the Goody.

Bobby jumped from Swansea when he realised he couldn’t get them promoted, he jumped from Wigan having got them relegated…… his CV is building up nicely here.

Give him a 25 year contract at Everton and he will not take them forward. Still BK has the satisfaction of Everton having their best premiership points tally, a round of applause everybody and well spotted Barnsley, the toffee supporters will be well chuffed.
Wake up man, contracts mean diddley squat these days.

So offering him a new contract – on more money isn’t a reward for his performance last season?

Your bitterness is obviously clouding your judgement.

The Everton supporters and board are ‘well chuffed’ with him.
I’m sick of hearing people saying on here that Everton supporters are well chuffed, not the ones I work with. They started off loving his tactics and then saw a change that sounded like he had gone into that tippy tappy mode, with no real urgency to push on for a CL spot which for long periods, was in their grasp.
Possession means more than points to the blind fool, unless he realises there has to be plan A, plan B and a plan C, then he will continue to frustrate the supporters of his team, whoever it may be.

I’d say that a true reflection on how the supporters feel is that the jury are still undecided. Lets say its been a “getting to know you” type of season with the next one being more of a “we want more” campaign.

Yes of course I’m bitter, very bitter indeed, to the same degree as you and a few others are up his harris to your ball sacks and elbows.
I really couldn’t give a rat’s arse where Everton finish next season.

Castigate him for jumping ship. Call him a traitor and a hypocrite. Criticise his style of football, no plan B or C. Whinge that he didn’t prioritise those first two cup games or that he got lucky later on with the draw. Do all of that if it indulges your bitter obsession to see him fail so you can smirk and say, I told you so.

And when you’ve done all that remember that Roberto Martinez presided over the greatest achievement in this club’s history by tactically out-thinking Mancini and his multi-million pound players and winning the FA Cup.

Anything else you think needs to be said is just hot air and gossip.

You mean like the blind fool who defended Martinez unfalteringly – refusing to accept any failings, only to completely change their opinion and claim his modus operandi is littered with flaws the second he left?

If ‘being up his harris’ means I defended him because I could see what he was trying to achieve – not just because he was Wigan’s manager – and I still respect what he did for us and recognise what he’s doing at another club, then yes, I am right up his harris (incidentally the phrase is ‘arris’).

I am also up the ‘harris’ – insomuch as I want them to succeed – of anyone else who is or who has been in the past connected to Wigan or Wigan Athletic and has not spoken disparagingly about the town or football club.

But you carry on booing, hissing and spitting everytime he appears on TV if it makes you feel better and I’ll carry on kissing my Roberto Martinez scrapbook or whatever else you imagine me doing.

I suspect the magnitide to which we are “up his arris” (if indeed we are) bears no comparison whatsoever to your level of hysteria and hatred over Martinez. You really do make yurself sound a little bit daft and very childish, John. There’s only you – and a few who I wouldn’t expect to know any better – who are still getting remotely uset about it.

I see Alvin Martin on Talksport was proposing Martinez being invited to deliver coaching sessions to the England squad on the basis of the respect that he would command from the players on account of his excellent technical and tactical knowledge.

Still, what does he know, eh?

But most Everton fans seem to like the way Martinez does things.

Everton ‘very encouraged’ by season ticket sales 09/04/2014

With two weeks still remaining of the Early Bird discount window, the number of Evertonians buying a Season Ticket for the very first time has rocketed by 202 per cent compared to 12 months ago.

The percentage of existing Season Ticket holders renewing for next term is also up compared to the same day of sales last year.

Junior Blues are particularly keen to secure their seat at Goodison with the number of under 16s signing up to become regulars increasing by 95 per cent.

Ah, but the two who work in JR’s office in Wigan say he’s not all that good.

I wonder if they are among the 96% who renewed their season tickets.

Season tickets top 26,000 By admin on June 6, 2014

The clamour for 2014/15 Season Tickets has now seen over 26,000 Evertonians secure their seats at Goodison for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

A hugely successful Early Bird window earlier this year saw a year-on-year increase in purchasers of 21%.

96% of fans have now renewed from last season and there have been almost 5,000 more sales this summer than at the same point 12 months ago.

A lot of my family and friends are Everton supporters.

They think Martinez is brilliant.

#132290

Working in Liverpool, I meet a lot of Everton supporters – the vast majority that I’ve encountered rate Bobby & think he’s the best manager they’ve had since Kendall (first time round).

There have been some dissenting voices – a few whinges about baffling substitutions & a lack of ability to change his tactics during a game which cost them (the Arsenal cup game springs to mind).
There’s also been a few towards the back end of the season who said that at times the team can seem to pass for passing’s sake & even a couple who have questioned some of his signings – curiously enough 3 of the 4 signings he made from Latics aren’t highly rated by most of the Everton faithful. One contractor we use said that “he’s been alright, but if he signs any more f****n s**t Wigan players I might have to change my mind.”
I’ve also spoke with others who have said that on the one side he has got some players who were already there playing better (Barkley & Naismith) but on the flip side of the 9 players he brought in Lukaku, McCarthy & Barry have been great, the young lad from Barcelona was good but not used enough but the others weren’t very good.

Overall the majority seemed happy but there does seem to be some doubts as to how they’ll manage in the longer term as he gets to bring more of his own men in

#132291

Does that mean he won’t be coming back for McArthur?

I have my views other people have theirs, that’s what this football forum malarkey is all about.

However, nobody on this forum is in any position to conclude that most Everton fans are pro Martinez.

Yes Standish, I was supporting Bobby all the way when he was our manager, even when I thought his tactics were sort of “puzzling” shall we say.

I am now anti Martinez just like I’m anti Bruce and double anti-Coyle, sorry if I’m not allowed to change my opinions, didn’t realise that wasn’t allowed on here.

I’ll try to sit back and wait to see what happens, seeing that the 3 amigos have all got their knickers in a twist again.

Anyway, off to the game and concentrate on how Rosler is fairing. :cheer:

Wouldn’t bother explaining to the Martinez LUVVIES JR , all of them are in love with him !

#132295

Maybe he’ll ( R.M ) will be a one season wonder ! Pity it wasn’t at Wigan, where he was a one game wonder. Anyway, I’ll thank him for that one special game and that’s were my love ends for Judas !
