I believe Bobby’s problem is that he is so insistent in his way of thinking that a European style of keep ball is going to work in the Prem. Everyone knows that English football is played at 100 mile an hour and you have very limited time on the ball. I don’t think we will see the best of Bobby as a manager until he goes to a club in Southern Europe where his patient build up and ball retention will be more suited. I still think he will be a decent manager but it may be away from the frantic all action game that is English football. You would think that after the way we played in the cup final and how he set us up that he would have learned an alternative way to approach games.
19 March 2015 at 11:43 pm #140514Well Bob can now concentrate on the league, without distraction.
20 March 2015 at 2:12 am #140519He has certainly taken Everton to new lows. When is the Moyesey home coming party at Goodison?
20 March 2015 at 1:13 pm #140525I am still confused by all the people who were convinced that Everton were going to actually win the Europa League? Their league form is woeful and they had shown nothing to indicate that they were going to succeed! Listen, RM is not the manager that DW said he was, it was all smoke blown up his backside to attract a club willing to fork out the right cash! Everton got mugged over but that is their problem now!

BTW, how good do Wolfsburg look now?.
21 March 2015 at 2:00 am #140544One of my mates who is an Everton fan chatting on facebook!
Hahahahahaha!!! Martinez has spoken. “Defensively, I don’t think he (Alcaraz) had a poor game”
A serious WTF moment!

21 March 2015 at 2:20 am #140549Their fans who made these posts are just as knowledgeable as our own shining lights.
Who was it who looked forward to relegation because he would see us winning our home games once more?
Wigan didn’t have the resources to compete at the bottom of the league and in the FA Cup. Everton haven’t got the resources to compete at the top of the league and in the Europa League.
Roberto has raised the expectations of the Everton fans. Let’s see how he gets on next season.

If they get beat against QPR there will be some ramifications! :)
13 April 2015 at 12:34 am #141155The Martinez legacy has affected us; ask The Egg.
IT’S ALL HIS FAULT
14 April 2015 at 12:25 pm #141198If they get beat against QPR there will be some ramifications! :)QPR 1 Everton 2
So Bobby lives to fight another day. And Everton are now only twelve points clear of the bottom three. In fact, they are in great danger of finishing in the top half of the table!
To be fair, Toffeeweb doesn’t host the brightest Everton fans. In fact, some of them show our own members in a good light.
Meanwhile, it’s a big week for the post-Roberto, post-Coyle, post-Rosler, post-Mackay Wigan;
Tuesday – Millwall v Wigan
Wednesday – Fulham v RotherhamCaldwell has seen a good variety of managerial styles recently. I wonder which manager he has learned most from.

Two seasons down, two to go, can he deliver? Me thinks not! ;)
14 April 2015 at 8:56 pm #141207His new chairman, Bill Kenwright, with whom the 39-year-old has signed a four-year contract, revealed that the first words Martinez said to him when he was interviewed to succeed Moyes as Everton manager were: “I will get you into the Champions League.”
Like the rest of us, you happily dismissed most of Roberto’s pronouncements as managerial bluster, but you have chosen to take this one literally. Even Bill Kenwright wasn’t foolish enough to do that! But he did find Roberto’s attitude refreshing after ten years of dealing with the unsmiling David Moyes.
But you are right about the illusions of the Everton fans. They see themselves as supporters of one of the great English football teams, and consider that Everton are automatically entitled to a place at the top of the league. They are as misguided – and as disappointed – as the Wigan fans who think Wigan are entitled to a place in the Premier League.
We are, I fear, going to Barnsley.

I do think that in his 2nd season in charge he should have them in a better league position then they are right now! Many Everton fans, deluded or not will see it as a backwards step and why wouldn’t they! ;)
